I am 35 years old, married to my best friend and have two of the greatest kids on earth. I have been a yo-yo dieter since my adolescent years and have finally come to the realization that my weight is probably not going to change without a drastic change from me. I used to be adamantly opposed to WLS, but I attribute that to my previous lack of knowledge about it. I have learned that the majority of obese people, such as myself, will not be able to keep any significant weight off for any considerable length of time without medical help. I am now taking the steps necessary to obtain WLS for myself, and look forward to the life I will soon begin. I found this site and have only recently registered...yes, I was the lurker that read postings and profiles under the radar. I guess I finally realized that I am not alone in this and there are so many wonderful people on this site that can be such a strong chain of support for me (and me them) as I embark on this life-changing journey.
