I had the lap-band surgery in 2004... in 2007 had it removed. The band not only migrated into my stomach, it also helped to cause a fistula (tunnel) between my stomach and left lung.... so everytrhing I was eating was going into my lung. Numerous bouts of pneumonia went with it. It wasn't until I aspirated barium during and Upper GI that they realized something was REALLY wrong.
It has been almost 2 years since its removal.... there was so much internal damage that I couldn't have the RNY at the time... now I am busy pursuing that. Working with Dr Chin, in Fountain Valley CA, to have the gastic bypass... had some mix up in records from the hospital... so now he is awaiting the release of more of my records so he can make the decision.
