Hey everyone... I thought it was about time I gave myself a proper introduction... My name is Kim, and I am 24 years old. I have been married to my hubby, Chris, for a little over five years now. Together we have four boys, Vinson, 7, Stephan, 5, Brayden, 3, and Christian 18 months. Our two oldest boys, Vinson and Stephan are my hubby's nephews, who we are adopting through CPS. As of 10/13/08, we've had them two years, and are supposed to have their adoption final on 11/15/08, national adoption day! It's pretty funny actually, Brayden was 18 months old at the time, and we found out on a Friday that we were getting the older boys, and found out two days later, on a Sunday that we were pregnant with Christian. So we went from one to four kids in a weekend! WOW!!!
Obviously, being obese and mother to four small boys don't mix very well. Not to mention we live in a third floor apartment. I've been researching wls since 2006, but just when I was going to go in for a consult, we found out I was pregnant with my youngest!
I've been obese since I was nine, and I have tried everything from Atkins to Weight Watchers to Jenny Craig... Even Curves... I have to say I personally love working out at Curves! Now I just need the wls as my tool!
I chose rny over lapband because as my surgeon pointed out in his seminar, if you have a problem with sweets, you can cheat the band. The only reason I am the size I am is because of the 6-10 sodas I used to drink in a typical day. So I definitely don't want to throw everything out the window and get a surgery that I can cheat... If soda wasn't my problem, the lapband would've been perfect for me.
I am outgoing, love people, life, music, movies, shopping, my kids, animals, scrapbooking, cooking, etc. I am looking forward to (fingers crossed!) having wls in late December or sometime in January 2009. Wish me luck and please offer me any advice you have that will help me through this journey and maybe make it a bit easier!
