I broke into the 200s today. 93 pounds until goal weight. I doubt I can reach that goal by the end of the year because from what the doctors and other WLS patients tell me the weight loss slows down after 6 months. I'm still losing 5 - 6 pounds a week but I attribute that to my workout and cardio regimin. If I keep that weight loss up I'll be close. I recently got on a gardening kick because 50% of my bananna plants died. I never really cared much for planing shit but the last couple weekends I've played around with weeding out a big area and planting some cacti, some bushes and some other flowering type plants. For the first time since I built my house my patio area actually looks presentable. I've never had any luck with houseplants probably because I never watered them. At least I know that the garden will get water from rain. Hopefully I can keep everything alive.

Both goals met today! 98 pounds until goal weight and I am not officially out of the "Morbidly Obese Category" according to my BMI.

5.5 months almost to the day since the surgery and I'm at 158 total pounds lost. How much does a Backstreet Boy weigh? I think I have lost about one frail Backstreet Boy now. :) 2 more pounds and I hit another big milestone. First, my BMI will be in the 30s and secondly I will be on the last 100 pounds to my goal. I'm having to buy a new pair of jeans every couple weeks. So far I've been through 16 jean sizes. That's just crazy when I think about it.

Almost 5 months to the day and I hit my next milestone. 150 pounds lost. 109 to go to my goal.
The gallbladder operation went well with no complications. I got a gas bubble caught in my shoulder that sucked and hurt like hell but other than that at one week out I feel 'normal' again. I tried to get them to let me keep it but they wouldn't let me. :( I did get them to take a picture of it though.

My gallbladder is full of stones so I'm going in to have it removed on Wednesday. I've been told it's a pretty simple procedure and I may even be able to go home the same day. I hope that's the case.

I'm on the downward slide to my goal weight. With the exception of a few minor hiccups at work life has been pretty swell lately. I'm starting to get lots of compliments now. I've had strangers walk up to me in the gym and on the street telling me, "Man you've lost a ton of weight!" in which I reply, "Yeah, I run everywhere just like Forrest Gump." :) I don't run everywhere like F.G. but I do workout 5 days a week twice a day. Here's my current workout routine:
Monday - 30 minutes of stairmaster in the morning before work and weights in the afternoon.
Tuesday - 30 minutes of stairmaster in the morning before work and 20 - 30 minutes of stairmaster in the afternoon.
Wednesday - 30 minutes of stairmaster in the morning before work and weights in the afternoon.
Thursday- 30 minutes of stairmaster in the morning before work and 20 - 30 minutes of stairmaster in the afternoon.
Friday - 30 minutes of stairmaster in the morning before work and weights in the afternoon.
I've also been keeping a closer eye on my diet lately since my weight loss slowed down to 3 - 4 pounds a week. I'm consuming 800 - 1000 calories a day with close to half of that being protein. (90 - 120 grams a day)

5.5 more pounds until I hit the halfway mark. I'm up to 2 to 3 miles a day (30 - 45 minutes) cardio (StairMaster) in the morning and lifting weights in the afternoon five times a week. I'm adding more and more foods to my diet and really haven't had that many problems, although I've gotten a little woozy a couple times from eating rice or pasta but it's nothing I can't handle.
On a sad note I lost my female Miniature Pincher Dutchess a few weeks ago. I miss her greatly and I look forward to seeing her again on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
RIP Dutchess. Your pops misses you.

I met my first major milestone today. I was teetering at the 100 pounds mark this morning before going on a nature trek with a buddy I work with and his family at Tunica Hills. If the ground would have been flat I could say that I woulda lost a pound or so but this was far from it. Tunica Hills was far from it. Going down to the bottom of the mountain trail some people want to call a hill was the easy part. Going back UP is where I had the toughest workout of the last 3 years. I was sure that I lost a pound or two but to my surprise when I weighed in that afternoon I'd lost 6! So I'm no longer teetering at the 100 pounds lost mark. I'm well into the the hundreds and now I have my eye on 200.

I met my first milestone (albiet a small one) by dipping below the 50+ BMI. I think I'm also going to meet and exceed my other goal of 50 miles of walking this month. I wonder if I'll be able to hit 100 pounds by 15 June. :)
This was perhaps my best week since the surgery. I'm really feeling great now. Up until last week I wouldn't have recommended this surgery to anyone and surely wouldn't do it all over again. This week really changed my mind. I'm starting to really feel like it was all worth it. I'm shedding pounds like a madman, I've got tons of energy and I'm really never hungry anymore. Life is definately improving.

Heh. Well maybe I spoke too soon about a plateau. Since Friday I've lost SIX (6) pounds! I guess I can contribute that to the 11.1 miles of walking I've done for the last three days. I'm also on the verge of exiting the dreaded 'Super Morbidly Obese' BMI category. I've set that as a mini-milestone.
