I turned 45 this year in March and weigh the most I have ever weighed in my entire life, 250 pounds, and I am only 5'2" tall, so said to myself - I have to do something this year, or else forget about it.
I am diabetic probably as a result of being overweight, and was diagnosed about 4 years ago with it. I just couldn't seem to stick with any diet for any length of time, and I have been overweight about 23 years now. I have tried Weight Watcher, Curves, South Beach, Adkins, I even took the perscription Phen-Phen drug, (thank God, with no bad effects from it), I have taken perscription Redux, and many over the counter remedies, you name it, I think I have tried it, with no success. Now I am going to try this lap band surgery. I know it will be the tool that will help me win this battle.
I have been married to the same wonderful man for the past 24 years, it will be 25 August 20, 2008. Hopefully I will be back to a good size by then. I have 2 beautiful daughters; Jennifer 21, and Heather 18. Both are in college now. Not quite empty nest yet, Jennifer is living away, going to school about 2 hours away, but Heather is still at home and won't leave for college til January, but she will only be 30 minutes away, still... not in my house. I will be sad, but happy at the same time. I will be ok.
