 As of today I am 30.7 lbs down! Still no exercise. Letter for approval went out 2-3 days ago and I am hoping for approval. I am still worried and nervous and scared but I know this is what I need to do.

 Went to Dr. appt on March 26th. I am down 25lbs. I have gone back and forth with the last 3 lbs, but I did it. Time for a change now I guess. Does anyone know what BMI you would have to get to that they wouldnt do they surgery? I want to add in exercise probably just walking and cut back on a bit more of the calories. Ii know if you lose a certain amount, insurance will still cover it, but the Dr wont do the surgery if you lose too much. I dont think I am going to lose too much, but I wanna make sure! Thanks Lisa

 Ok i really want to do this! I have lost 20lbs and 3 inches on my own. Now I am hearing the-oh no dont get that surgery, you can do this on your own and you arent that big to get the surgery. And these comments are from thinner people not heavy ones!  I am nervous and scared but I think this is the tool i need to help me get the weight off and keep it off!! Anyone have any input?

 I went to a Dr appt on Monday and weighed 215-yeah! Now today I am 216 (already accounted for the scale differences) So my 60 day diet and exercise appt with my PCP is tomorrow. I am down, but not as much as I wanted! 12lbs first month, now only 6 or 7 lbs this month and I have been juggling the last 2 or 3 lbs back and forth. I need to bust my butt and exercise a bit more I guess. Any input from anyone that had to do this would be great! Thx Lisa

 Actually it isnt all that bad really-Just want it to be over so that i can schedule the surgery! I am tired of tuna, chicken, cottage cheese, apples, oranges and being hungry! So i have switched to grapes, bananas and strawberries and salad at lunch and dinner.Of course with protein just little of it whether it is steak, pork, etc.. It is day 58 I have lost 18lbs. I seem to be at a stand still for the last two weeks, so time to make a change. I need to exercise more. I have been taking in about 1000-1200 cals a day, so i need to go lower-800-1000! anyhow just wanted to post-if anyone wants to reply! Thanks Lisa

 Today is day 48 of the 90 day diet and exercise thing for insurance! half-way-but ugh (hungry!) Anyhow, started out at 230 and two days ago was down to 214.6! Today I am up two lbs, don't know why, but I wont beat myself up about it and will keep going! This is the point I can always get to every time I try this and i usually end up quitting, but not this time. I am going to concentrate on exercise more decrease calories a bit more and see how that works for me. I am staying low carb, low cal and usually low fat! Drink my water (could probably drink more) increased my fruits and veggies, and keeping protein first. So I think I am doing the best I can for now! I am never going over 1400 cals/day range between (1200-1400) right now so I can now try to go to 1000-1200 cals/day. Guess we will see...

tired of being hungry!

 Today is day 37 of the 90 day diet and exercise thing. I have lost a total of 12.8lbs. Still just calorie counting and smaller portions and wiser choices. Total caloric intake staying between 1000-1500 cals/day. Need to go a little lower and exercise more often. Sooooo depressed and tired of living this way! had a mammogram today and need to get pre-op bloodwork for surgery-but it was soooo crowded! I will try for that tomorrow. Just hoping that with the lap band that I will be fuller quicker and not so darn hungry between meals! if so, I can handle that.

 ok I am on day 26-I have lost 10.7lbs on my own. Mainly with better choices, smaller portions and counting calories. I am now trying to stay at about 1500-1600 a day. 1st 30 day appt with PCP is on friday. So I went from 230-219lbs. Not much exercise either. I of course know I need to add a bit more in and lower calories to about 1200-1400 is my next step!

3 month insurance diet and exercise

 Ok It has been about 14 days of journaling food on paper with portions, calories etc...I have been making better choices, having actual serving sizes, increased water intake, increased veg and fruit..... I have been getting in some type of exercise walking, housework, shoveling snow, getting on my Total Gym fro 20-30 mins per day... I was wondering it if anyone has any idea why Southern Health makes you do this? Is it to see if you can stick to a diet and exercise plan? Because after the surgery, the diet is different anyway! Or is it to see that maybe you possibly can't stick to it-in turn to prove that you indeed need the surgery to help you lose the weight ? Just wondering? I lost 8 lbs then gained back 2lbs. I know this happens. I had been taking in about 2200-2400 calories per day before I started this 3 month thing. Now I have been definitely staying below 2000 and trying to stick to 1700-1800. The Dr never gave me a caloric number to stick to-I figure I can work down to 1200/day eventually. Can I get some feedback please from someone? Thanks Lisa
