58 Weeks Post Op

Jun 01, 2009

Just thought I'd drop in again.  Things are still going well although weight loss has slowed.  I now tip in in the low 190's, should start seeing some drops into the 180's in a week or two!  I went clothes shopping again and bought MEDIUM shirts!  MEDIUM!  That really feels great.  I even bought a bold shirt that I would have never worn before, but I enjoy showing off a bit more now.  Prior to having surgery I would have said wearing a XL or L would be a success, never did I think M was my size.  I'm wearing 34W pants now.  I look great.

Still working out about 4 days a week.  Still going to my karate classes.  I've been seeing old friends lately and their disbelief that it's me has been fun.  One of my good old friends was in town and he had to do a double take and think who I was when I tapped him on the shoulder.  Of course now I'm starting to hear those "don't get too skinny" people out there.  Something about buying Medium has boosted my self esteem to a level I don't think I was ever at before.

I flew out of town a few weeks ago and the seat belt on the plane had plenty of slack and the seat was nearly comfortable.

I get jokes about living off peanuts, peanut butter, tuna, cheese and power bars but hey I could do worse.  I will say oddly enough now that I'm feeling good about myself and my weight I'm starting to get more cravings for junk food.  Interesting.  Must be that "I've made it so I can stop now" kinda thing.  Don't worry, I'm not stopping.

Hang in there everyone.  Good luck to all.

Andy
