60 Weeks Post Op

Jun 15, 2009

I'm going to have to start tracking my post-op dates in months - it's getting to be a lot of weeks out.  So let's see, I'm about 14 months post-op now.  Things are going OK but somehow I had a weight gain this past week (+2.8 lbs).  That's up there with my worst weeks since surgery.

I'm not too concerned I know I was just off track on Saturday due to an all day fishing trip.  I ate mostly my "approved" snacks (peanuts, Atkins bars, cheese), but no real meals and I ate WAY too many snacks.   Oh, and of course my diet's "unapproved" arch-enemy beer!  No matter how many times I consider quitting drinking I just can't see eliminating every social activity and still enjoy life.  So as I've said before it stays - in some type moderation.

I worked out quite a bit last week too.  5 days in a row, I think.  That may have actually added to my weight gain.  I actually lose more weight when I cut back on the work outs.  Funny isn't it?  But of course that's due to losing muscle along with fat.  I don't know if I can keep up with the workout routine I now follow.  It may become a bit too much.  I'm sure it'll all work out.  I'm in week 6 of my 7 week introductory karate class, which I'm considering joining that class officially once my trial period is up.  It is a good way to work muscles I wasn't hitting in the gym.  I enjoy learning self-defense as well.

I donated nearly my entire closet of "fat" clothes, which was A LOT of clothes.  Not too much else going on.  Just need to maintain focus on the diet this week and get those pounds back off.  I'd like to see that scale dip into the 180's!  It will soon enough!
