LIFE GOES ON!

Sep 03, 2009

You know, that's really true, life does go on & I'm glad that it does.  I was devastated when I found out that my band had to be removed and thought I couldn't keep my weight off without it but so far so good.  Everyone kept telling me that I had changed & that I could do it but I didn't have much confidence in myself.  Anyone that has battled with their weight all of their life knows that is easy for someone else to say but it's easier said than done.  My band was removed 3 weeks ago & I was left with a few more incisions but I am managing to go on.  I learned much about nutrition & weight management during the process of getting approved for the lapband & for the 21 months while having my band.  I am very thankful for the opportunity I had to get my weight under control.  I feel so much better & I also feel much better about myself.  I made many changes while living with my band & I will keep those incorporated into my life.  I still don't drink with my meals.  I learned back before my surgery that it's not good for your digestion & had already made the change before my surgery.  I watch what I eat & we are members of the local YMCA & I am taking several aqua-aerobics classes there.  There's a new class that I just love; it's called chachaH20.  I think it's a cross between latin dance & belly dancing in the water.  I know for a fact that I wouldn't do it if I was on dry ground but I love doing it under water where no one can see how silly I look.  Because it's under water it's much better for your joints & you have the resistance of the water.  So, like I said before, my life is going on & I will keep my weight under control.  I still hope to someday be able to have a tummytuck, but time will tell.
