Meet Our Speakers: Sheldon M. Lincenberg, MD, FACS
As a much respected plastic surgeon, Dr. Sheldon Lincenberg dedicates much of his spare time to community outreach. Speaking of caring about his community, Dr. Lincenberg is also an expert in post WLS plastic surgery procedures. The OH team is very excited to have him speaking at our Atlanta, GA event October 5th and 6th. Sep 06, 2012

She also knows that these dramatic changes can be fleeting if you don’t take charge and make the internal changes necessary to support your newfound health and wellbeing. In response to her own journey for support, she has developed an innovative approach to weight loss surgery aftercare that helps you develop practical tools to enjoy your new body and your new outlook on life...long-term.

OH asked Jill to share 3 things about herself that our members might not know. She wrote:
- I have a very dry sense of humor and really value playfulness, in myself and others.
- I left my "safe," well-paying job of 10 years (in this economy) to risk doing what matters most to me: developing aftercare support services that genuinely contribute to the health and well-being of others on their WLS journey.
-Showing up for my new life 4+ years after WLS takes a steady, inner courage that I sometimes need to reconnect with on a daily basis. I still wake up each morning aware of both:
-Deep gratitude for how present, juicy and alive I feel, and,
-Fearful that I will STILL somehow let myself or others down, but this time, I can't blame it on my weight or poor health.
Don't forget to stop by and see Jill in Atlanta!

Exercise, Myths, and Realities-OH MY!
Engaging, often comical, and very enlightening—fitness expert Jeremy Gentles, is out to bust those exercise and fitness myths at the OH “Celebrate Your Journey” event on October 5th and 6th in Atlanta, Georgia. Jeremy brings to the stage his highly energized personality, quick wit, and the cold, hard facts!
Fact or myth? Is it true that it is better for your knees and joints to run on a treadmill instead of on the pavement?
Jeremy will answer this question and more, helping us to separate fact from fiction! What questions will you have for Jeremy? Oh-and just for the fun of it, ask Jeremy about a Halloween faux-pas that he won’t soon forget…and you won’t either! You will really laugh out loud! He claims it as his most embarrassing moment. Let’s just say it involves a diaper, a highway, and a siren!
Other fun, unknown Jeremy facts:
-Jeremy says it’s hard to find a hat that fits his rather large head. “When I find one, it just looks funny anyway!” :)
-Jeremy has an interesting hobby. He has been known to make a little of his own homemade brewsky!
Don't miss Jeremy's presentation, Exercise, Myths and Realities, for pre-op, post-op or anyone looking to learn about the realities of exercise. Join us in Atlanta! Click here to reserve your ticket today!

So all you Event Attendee Veterans....
What would you recommend to first time event attendees to:

So far our Facebook Fans have listed:
Megan said "Bring a sweater!"
Kris said "Money to buy the body shaper garment"
Janet said "1) A great sense of humor and a big bag for your samples! 2) Don't bring too much stuff cause you'll have double to take home."
Crystal said "1. Bring a dress and your dancing shoes! 2. Do not bring a bad attitude, be open to meeting new people and having a blast!"
Valerie said "I just bring my party animal self and my clothes. Laptop. Which doesn't get used. A dressy dress for the party. Casual stuff to wear during the day. My vitamins go anyplace I go. I usually book an extra couple days at the hotel so I can see the city where I'm going."
Sarah said "Empty space in your suitcase to bring back all the goodies!!! If you have a dressy dress, fine but please don't feel obligated to dress up just BE THERE!"
Sarah said "A BEFORE picture!!!"
Ann said "Wear comfortable clothing & sensible shoes. Don't bring protein snacks because there's a bunch of samples to be had"
Don said "Bring a positive, friendly, open-minded attitude. Do NOT bring a book - with the first, you'll be SOOO busy meeting/talking/doing things with new people, the second will NOT be necessary."
Deb said "Of course your camera but most important - bring yourself. Yeah, extra suitcase space is nice but even better? A little notebook to write down the contact information of all the new friends you are going to make."
