Q:  Where can I get a promo code for the 2011 New Orleans or New York event?  

A:  You can check with so many people to get a promo code!  Local OH Support Group Leaders, community bloggers, and there are even professionals & vendors that have codes to help you get into the Events at a reduced rate.  You will see codes in signature lines, on blogs off OH, on Facebook, in surgeon's offices... in so many places!

Q:  Who has the best deal?  What is the difference? Why should I use one promo code vs another? Do I have to use a promo code at all?  

A:  Woah...Okay.  Let us try to break this down a bit for you!

The "best deal" is really up to you (in the eye of the beholder).

The differences are that some codes may have a little better savings, or some codes may have little goodies like a t-shirt or tote bag, or some codes we give the seller a small cash back amount for each ticket sold with their code.  

The why, is really up to you too!  Here are some reasons we know people have used various codes:  1)  To save money 2) To receive extra OH goodies 3) To show allegiance to their Support Group & or help offset their support group leaders out-of-pocket printing supply costs  4) To show support or come in as a group with their surgeon's center 5) To show support to a favorite blogger, we also know that sometimes, the seller will donate their proceeds to their favorite charity & people choose to support the seller and the charity all at once! We think that is GREAT!   

There may be more reasons but those are some we know of! And, no you do not have to use a code.  We have some people that just find it to be a hassle and do not want to mess with it at all. It is just like shopping in a store or online, you can take the opportunity that best suits you.  

Q:  What if I can't find a code? 

Send us an email at [email protected] and we will locate a code for you.  

Q:  What if my code isn't working!? 

Check your code, make sure you have it exactly right.  It has to be entered in perfect or it will not go through! If you are still having problems with it, email us and let us know which code you are trying to use and we'll figure it out together.

MindStream Academy will award one scholarship to our 2011 health and wellness boarding program beginning August 29, 2011. All entrants must be between the ages of 13 and 18 years old. Final selection of scholarship student will be at MindStream Academy’s discretion following their evaluation and admissions process. All entries must be received by July 31, 2011. The winner of the scholarship will be announced August 5, 2011. 

 

Teens attending MindStream Academy are involved in a wide range of outdoor activities including:  

•Swimming •Kayaking •Team Sports •Martial Arts
•Yoga •Equine Activities •Gardening •Biking •Hiking 

Teens also experience real-life activities such as cooking classes and learning how to make healthy choices at restaurants and grocery stores. With so many different programs available for either group or self-directed interests, a day can be enhanced with creative writing, Zumba, animal care, and various fun field trips.

There are all kinds of promo codes available for each of the events around on the internet.  Some have better saving or some have little goodies (t-shirt, tote bag) and some get cash back to the seller and some of those amazing sellers are even donating their proceeds to their favorite charity. WOW, we have some amazing people in this community!

Make sure you look around and grab a code!  For example, our OH support group leaders have special codes, you can show your pride and support your group by using their code!  Many community bloggers have special codes too, you can show your appreciation for your favorite bloggers by using their code!  Also, many professionals and vendors also have special promo codes, and you can show your support for them by using their code.  Look around, ask around... there are codes everywhere! If you can't find one, email us at [email protected] and we'll make sure you get one!

June 17, 2008, ObesityHelp.com was in attendance as thousands gathered for the Walk from Obesity – Walk on the Capitol in Washington, DC, to raise awareness of obesity.   

Here is what two of our attending staff had to say:  

Tammy Colter, Director of Media and Public Relations: “I was proud to take part in the Walk from Obesity and to see so many amazing, caring people come together to bring public awareness to the fight against obesity.”  

Jason Riddle, Marketing Director: “Inspiration!” 

Tammy Colter asked the following question of two highly respected walk participants, "what does the walk from obesity mean to you?"

Dr. Cowan: "I am an obesity surgery addict who has been fighting for patients for 30 plus years.  This walk helps to satisfy my addiction...but there is more...much, much more."

Dr. Yasrebi: "I have been performing bariatric surgery for 27 years.  There is no single treatment for obesity. Combining surgery with walking and a healthy diet maximizes the success of the surgery."
