sleever and type 2 diabetes - does anyone have experience with being diagnosed with T 2 diabetes before surgery? did it go away or what?

Why am I all of a sudden scared of this surgery - Please help me get to a frame of mind where I am not nervous or scared of getting half my stomach removed.
