Food Choices at 8 weeks

Sep 23, 2009

Are  peanuts a healthy snack for sleevers? How about dill pickles. I wish I could find a food chart week by week..
The problems with weight loss is I didn't know how to eat healthy before. Now I have to try to learn. The sleeve way.
I know I eat less because I can only eat about 3 oz per meal but am I making the right choices.
Most foods I have been eating taste so diffrent. Can any one help me with some healthy choices? Is Benefiber okay to use now?

So Happy

Sep 23, 2009

Well my sister just surprised me now. She went to check into Bariatrics with her Dr. and she is over 400 pounds. The Dr. told her she was a good candidate and is getting the paper work going. My date has his appointment on the 30th with Hurley. This is so wonderful. It makes me feel great that they are watching me and asking all kinds of questions. I just wish I had all the answers. Like I tell them I am learning everyday. I love my sleeve but I do still have alot to learn. I will be 8 weeks on the 29th of September My Birthday and I am feeling great. I did do a dumb thing though and I was with my grand baby and daughter and we went to taco bell. So I tried a small soft taco took the lettuce off and eat less than 1/2 but it made me feel funny. I didn't get sick but I realized bad choice on my part. I need to make my daughter understand that fast food is not my choice anymore. So I have decided to carry my snack with me if we are shopping.  It is a happy day.... I Love my sleeve.

7 Weeks Out

Sep 21, 2009

Today is my 7 weeks and I am feeling wonderful. I can do so many things I couldn't do.
1. Get down on the floor with my granddaughter and be able to get up without the help of furniture.
2. I can walk without getting winded.
3. I jogged a 1/2 mile for the first time in 26 years. (Jogged not walk)
4. Feeling more confident.
I know this was hard at first I had my ups and downs but I am finding food is not my best friend life is...
I am now on 1/2 blood pressure pill and prilosec that's it.  I have had so many people notice that I have lost weight.
Now Next month is going to be my test I have to get back out in the job market due to my hubby is getting laid off from GM for 2 years until Orion reopens.  Hoping I can find a job with this recession. Life will be diff rent I have been taking care of my granddaughter for a year and a half now my mother took care of her first cause I worked.
Well enough of my depression back to the good stuff. I have been trying new recipes and found Fiber one cereal with spices makes a good coating for Chicken.(Hungry Girl.com ) I made Ground Turkey Lasagna with Whole wheat noodles and sugar free Ragu pasta sauce. My hubby loved it. I picked the noodles out cause can't have them yet.
I love my SLEEVE!!!!

Sep 18, 2009

My dad called me yesterday and told me he made an appointment with Dr. Farhan at the bariatrics where I had my surgery. He has been asking me questions and  watching me lose weight. I am so excited for him. My Dad is over 400 pounds and diabetic. with many other health issues. I have been scared I was going to watch him die like my Aunt. His appointment. is September 30th. Not sure which surgery Farhan will say but I have the sleeve and I love it.  I am doing great feeling great. my new life is making me healthily and proving it can be done.

Rushing it or What

Sep 13, 2009

Am I rushing it or what. Tuesday I will be 6 weeks out and today I watched my Granddaughter for the first time she is 2 years old . Now after lifting her a few times I am having sharp pains in my tummy.  Tts like shooting from side to side. Is this the normal healing for sleeve. I have been feeling great.  So I  thought 6 weeks would have been good.

What are you eating

Sep 11, 2009

What are you eating at 6 weeks. I don't like fish and I have a hard time eating chicken. ( We raised our own meats on a 40 acer farm enough said  )  Need to find more foods with protien. My Doctors say no beef for 3 months. Why?  I know beef can be bad for you but as much as we can eat I don't see what it can hurt.
