So...where to begin.........
I am a 33 year old wife and mother of 3. I have known 2 sizes in my life, fat and fatter. I come from a long line of fatties.... infact... I think the best food in the world can be found at our family reunions..... with not a skinny one in the bunch.
However..... My mom and sister have both had WLS, and now its my turn!
It wasn't until last summer that I realized how badly I needed to take control of my weight. Of course I've always known how big I am but I didn't realize how my size was effecting my family. I wasn't able (or willing) to do all the things my kids wanted. I didn't want to go to the water park, didn't want to go anywhere really because I felt so uncomfortable in my own skin. WLS was always just a dream because my insurance didn't cover it.....until this year. As of January 2009, WLS is now a covered procedure! YAY! So I started the process of the dietician, pshcologist and all that junk. By mid January I had all my prereq's done. Insurance approved me this week..
