4.5 months out

Aug 04, 2009

Wow!  Time sure does fly by!  I can't believe its been almost 5 months since surgery.  Everything is going really well right now.    I'm down around 87 pounds total and feel really good.  For months I felt like the weight loss was sooooo slow..and, in comparison to other people it was a little slow but....consistant.  I still struggle with eating properly.  I try my best to eat protein but...am usually not very successful.  Even today I found myself eating...when I wasn't even hungry.  Stupid things like macaroni salad... carbs!  Its so hard to resist when it goes down so well!  I'm working on it though, and I realize that it is a battle I will always have to deal with so........ guess I better work it out now.  I never write down what I eat and have NO idea how many calories I take in.... more I have to work on...but...the scale is still moving and I have energy.  I definately need to make another trip to the nutritionist though and work through my choices.
My doctor told me recently that he doesn't want me eating fruit.  He says that is sugar and carbs that I don't need.  I said that I would have a protein drink for breakfast and a banana for snack.  He also said that I should not put fruit in my protein drinks.  How lame is that?  Fruit is the best part of the summer!  So....I haven't listened to him yet.  I should but...just cant seem to let go of my cherries and strawberries.  I mean really??  Its not chips and donuts.  But..I have slowed down on the fruit.  No longer making smoothies :(
I am happy though, finally shopping in real stores.  I bought my first pair of size 14 pants since I was in Jr High.  Now if I could just get some more exercise....
Its a process right?
