I started walking last night...I'm going to participate in the Road Runner Akron Marathon in September...I'm not sure I want to run but I know I can walk without a problem! I did two miles last night and averaged a 15 min/mile. I'd like to get my times down to a 12 min/mile to be a "power walker." I measured out the distance around the small block (Calaboone/Grill/Hametown/Portage=3.6m) and the big block (Calaboone/Edwards/Hametown/Portage=5.2m). I also figured out from home to SR21 and back is 3m. I'd like to start walking first thing in the am to avoid traffic and the heat once summer finally makes it to OHIO...walked in 35 degree weather last night--all bundled up!
