Liquid Diet

Well, two weeks from today I will hopefully just be coming out of recovery, and if I'm lucky will not have a large incision. Today starts my liquid diet, so far so good. It just the hunger and the headache (that I can't take Ibuprofen for). I am a little nervous and have had a few OMG what am I doing thoughts, but all in all I'm ready. I mean really, truly ready to do this.

Since deciding last Summer that I needed to have this surgery (I chickened out a few years ago after doing all the research) it seems the time is passing. I wouldn't say it's flying but now its February and pretty soon it will be Spring. If all goes well next month with Dr. Huang then I will probably be looking at surgery in June/July according to Lynn Bolduc at EMMC. I couldn't think of a better time of year to be off from work, but it will be hard on my husband because I won't be able to help him mow for awhile and he depends on me.
I think about all the stuff I have to give up, but then I remind myself of all things I am giving up now because I have let this control my life. I can't wait to be healthier and more active. To be able to walk without pain again. Everyone on here has been great.
