Leslie - I don't live in your area (I'm in Atlanta, Georgia) but I read your post and it touched me, so I thought I'd write you. I am currently almost 7 months post op and feeling great, down 94 pounds!! I am the world's biggest baby when it comes to needles, pain of any sort, etc!!! And I had never had any type of surgery before and I was scared to death!!!!! On the other hand, at almost 260 pounds and 29 years old, I knew that the risks of staying MO outweighed the risks of discomfort and fear from the surgical procedure and recovery. The best advise I can give you is research the surgeon you have choosen, research some more, and then meet and talk with his/her patients!!! Know as much about the doctor and his specific technique as possible and get first hand accounts from his patients who have been through it. Then, say a little prayer and make your most informed decision about the surgery. Best to you in your journey.
