OH WOW... a lot to update here. A lot has happened since my last post and things are moving very rapidly now. Sheesh...here goes...
On Tuesday, August 6, 2002, I called Robin at Dr. Walton's office to confirm she had received the letter from Dr. Fast and that everything was underway to turn in my predetermination. She said that my file was the third one down in her stack and that she would turn it in today. I got a call back about a hour later and she informed me that I AM APPROVED!!!! Yes, I AM APPROVED!!! I can't believe that it only took an hour! It was so wonderful it was great, but I still didn't have the money to go through with things. I still needed $1,000.00. So I called my dad and mom and everyone and told them I was approved and got the word out that I was looking for finances now. In talking to my dad, he wanted to know more about the procedure and he decided to give me $700.00! I just about died! So... that left $300.00 left to come up with. I was going over our finances and it looked as if everything was going to work out and that I actually had enough to go through with it and so now, I have all the money needed! I am so stoked!
WELL... so, I called Robin back and was talking about dates. It donned on me that I would, after August 14, have only one child enrolled in my daycare. I thought that it would be really good to only have to place one in someone else's care and the one I have already had a substitute! So, to make a long story short, it all worked out to date my surgery on August 19, 2002! THAT'S TEN DAYS AWAY!!! I can't believe it... like I said...things are moving VERY quickly.
So, now I am waiting to see what the date of all my pre-op stuff is going to be. I am going to try to do it all together... my EKG, Gall Bladder ultrasound and Pre-op testing. And hopefully, if all goes well, I will be on the other side in about a week! God help me!
They are going to take a love offering at my church to defray some of the costs of being off work for 2 weeks and to help get a little bit of living money. I don't expect to get a whole lot because my church is small, but I really will appreciate anything! I will keep updating if anything else happens and we will go from there!
Thank GOD for finally getting my computer back up and running! I will need it come the next few months desperately! Please continue to pray for me and I thank you in advance. God Bless you in all you do to further His kingdom!
~Marchioness Life of the Party~

Leslie, sounds like you're needin' a bit of encouragement!! After visiting your lovely profile, I had to stop by and send you my very best wishes. Jeremiah 29:11 is what the Lord gave me during my preop days, and I thought I'd pass it on to you.=)...For I know the plans I have for you...plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Hang in there, the best is yet to come!

Leslie, I am so excited for you. I live in Tulsa and Dr. Gorospe's partner, Dr. Bosquez, will be doing my surgery on April 30. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about both of these men since I started my journey. They have excellent reputations and are very empathetic with their patients. I think you will be extremely pleased with both of them when you attend the support meetings and again when you meet them at your consult. Best of luck to you and God bless!
