its been a while, boy do I need to update

My highest weight was 376 in March of 2009. Size 28, height 6’2, shoe size 13WW, bra size 46HH Pre surgery weight 342 November 2009 Size 24, height 6’2, shoe size 13W, bra size 44H Current weight 244 April 2010 Size 16, height 6’2, shoe size 12, bra size 38DDD My surgeon predicted that in a years time I should be able to maintain a weight of 242lbs I am almost 5 months post op.   Yesterday I ran in my first mile race. The Denver Mile High Mile. My goals for the race: Finish the race running. Run the whole race Finish the race in under 17 minutes (if I couldn’t run the whole way) Finish the race in 13mins if I did run the whole way Finish the race without chaffing Finish the race and go out to brunch with my friends Finish the race and be able to work on Monday.   I did finish the race and I ran the whole way, without chaffing, though I had to hold up my pants part of the way b/c the draw string wasn’t enough to handle my jiggly middle. I finished the race in 13:54 (new goal to come). I had a great brunch, I over ordered. Two eggs over medium, Canadian bacon, and yogurt. I ate less then half. Lol  I am currently at work, working away, no pain, a little tightness where I still need to stretch my hamsrings.   Just regular updates: I have not gone off plan, I am still struggling to get some veggies in, b/c I am all about my protein. I have not lost hair. No thinning. Yes my arms are jiggly, and my inner thighs are jiggly too I’ve been very lucky in the breast area. My skin has cleared up I’m not the best at taking my vitamins or benefiber… but I do relearn that benefiber lesson once a month. Lol (they have great chewables by the way) I’m in the gym 3 times a week, and outside walk/run 3 times a week. I do 30 mins of cardio 6 days a week.
No more high blood pressure
I'm totally addicted to nuts ( i dont keep them in the house anymore)
  New Goals:   Run a mile in 12 minutes (next weekend is the Cherry Creek Sneak) Run a 5k in May (run 1st mile, walk 2nd mile, run 3rd mile) Run a 5k All the way through by July Participate in the Irongirl Sprint Tri

I believe in positive thought. You bring into your life what you think about. So I think positive, and positive things happen to me. I also remember to be appreciative and grateful.  Each day is a miracle, I'm so blessed to be a part of.

Eat, Period!
When I do eat, make healthy choices.  Make sure to have healthy choices around.
Take ALL vitamins
Hit the gym
Learn to swim (better)
Irongirl tri
Du Wop Duathlon
Pay down debt
Lower Blood Pressure
Understand job

xmas, fainting, and food

xmas...

Wed night I flew into Indy to suprise my bro for xmas to find out that he already knew...and it was b/c my dad after having three back surgeries fell on the back porch and was in the ER! Perfect!!! It was scary. By the time we got to Champaign, 1.5 hrs away... my dad was back at the house and very uncomfortable.   Actual Xmas was great. playing with my 2 yr old twin nephews William and Daniel. Seeing my friend Mike and my grandma.

Fainting:

Got off the airplane in DIA, took the train, got to the baggage claim, and fainted. PERFECT!!!.  No ER trip, but I did go to the Dr. They told me to eat more, and drink more.  Turns out that when I had my crazy sneezing fit in IL... I took baby benedryl, and dehydrated myself. yay!  I dont ever want to faint again.

Food...
Food sucks, I hate eating it, its too much work, I hate beans, I hate chicken, I hate eggs, I hate soy, I hate pudding, I hate protien drinks, Everything is friggin sweet, and I'm not a big sugar fan. Oh and everything has the same aftertaste. Nasty!

I have a post op group meeting tomorrow.I have no idea what this is about. I feel like I have a test that I didnt study for.

I've had this "bug" that has given me diarhea for about a week and I'm over it! I'm not sure what I can eat, and what will stay its insane. So i'm focusing on getting my liquids drinking my smart water and staying close to the potty.

sick as a dog...

I have no idea what this is... its surely not dumping syndrome.

I had a 1/4 protien shake, (2.5oz)
1/4 egg white and 1/3 slice of deli meat with a small amount of cheese (didnt finish)
homemade chicken salad (yogurt, cottage cheese, green apple (no skin), and canned in water chicken)
about 12oz of water by this point in the day.

Then I had diarrhea every 25 minutes for about 3 hrs then. every hour and then every three hours. for about 16 hrs. It would start with an onset of massive pain in my lower abs(enough pain to yell out and double over). Then I would get flushed with heat (ears to toes).  then Diarrhea.

I called my WLS area and my PCP.. no reply from them yet. I'm trying to stay hydrated.
That was a sucky night!!!

ate oatmeal 530
rested 545-630
630-650 paid rent and got work stuff together
got in cab and road to work 650
arrrieved at work 715
worked: 730-?   We'll see how this goes!

Yikes! I wish I could post about how i jumped out out of bed and stated walking the halls. that was not the case at all.
I woke up in recovery moaning in discomfort and being told that my bp was 177/125. I got my room, my mom girl friend and bfriend mrs burch came along with me and we sat there and tried to figure out why the high bp why the naseau. Days later we got th neausea and bp under control Just in time for me to start my period . I wasnt walking well and had cramps on top of that. I never get cramps so this was unwelcome.

My incesions dont hurt or itch or feel uncomfortable, my drain is fine. IV sites are fine. I'm just pooped.

Im home now and my bp is back down.thank goodness.

Last meal and Liquid diet... (3days) update

Last meal, 
 I went to Ling and Louies with my gf. It was great. I had duck! I am gonna miss duck. Its a special occasion dish, and I will miss both turkey at thanksgiving and duck at christmas..so I took this opportunity to have it.  We went to see THe Bling Side. IT was awesome. Great film. I recommend it.

LIquid Diet

Day 1:  So far so good. I got up early (840am movie time) with my gf to go see a movie. Before we left i had a full 64oz of water and a whole package of prepared sugar free lime jello. I survived through the movie and a shopping trip to the grocery store, and at about three I started feeling the gurgling tummy and I got so many text messages of support throughout the day today... ITw as great. the time now is 502pm.  I drank my isopure when I felt hungry. IT taste like acid reflux..but its got 40grams of protien so Im thinking it should help. My gf and I got cozzy and watched UP, she bought it for me bc I constantly talk about the Character Dug. He's so awesome!  Tomorrow my mom gets to town around 6pm I'm hopin gthat i can get her bedroom and bathroom done before she gets here. My shoulder is still in pain and I am a little weak from that pain.

Day 2:  I'm a little anxious today. So I went shopping, and picked up my old roomates cool, awesome vacuum cleaner (Kirby) so that I can vacuum my spare room. Its also where my cat likes to sleep,and my mom will be staying in there.  My plan for today is to clean my spare bed and spare bath, pick up mom from airport, take mom to old roommates house for dinner, and  take before pics, and measurements. Oh and stay away from Chicken broth. Yuck. I went to get organic, low fat low sodium broth and it was ok while i wasdrinking it but... i think it turned my tummy afterwards.
