What do I do Now?

Apr 13, 2009

I am not feeling tooexcited today. I dropped my Bariatrics packet in the mail today so it is off to Atlanta hopefully I'll get approved. I called my doctor today for some direction but right now I feel lost and overwhelmed. I don't know what I should be doing now. I am on Medicaid and have gotten the medical neccesity recomendation from my doctor and I don't know what I should be doing now. I called a cardiologist office today and they said that my doctor would have to reffer me. I feel so lost right now, but maybe I am just overreacting as usual. I have an appointment with my PCP about this issue so maybe I should just wait to then. Any suggestions or advice.

WLS Seminar

Apr 12, 2009

Pic I am sending with my surgery packet
HI EVERYONE,

Yesterday, I went to Dr. Titus Duncan Bariatrics seminar, and now I know I am making the right decision to have suyrgery. Dr. Duncan really put things in prespective for me.  He said if you keep doing what you been doing you will keep getting what you been getting. He is right. With the diets, I always fell back into my old rountine of eating gaining the weight back yet agian. Dr. Duncan said it will invole Change Challenges and choices. He said that someone like me with a BMI of over 40 will most likely never lose the weight alone. He said a 22lb weight loss would pretty much mean nothing which is what people are generally able to keep off. He enthuaism is contagious and had all of us ready to go. After attending the seminar, I realize that the best surgery for me would be the RNY. I am so excited and hope everything goes smothly. I have filled out my packet and will be ready to give it to the mail man tomorrow. I am so proud of the decision I am making.....Keep me in your prayers.....Oh yea, and he is a great singer too....

My Introduction

Mar 30, 2009

Hi Everyone, I am new to this site but not to struggling with my weight. I have been overweight since I was a child. I went on my first diet went I was nine years old supervised by a nutritionist. Needless to say, I continued to gain weight until my freshman year of college in 2000. I started taking Metabolite and doing Taebo and went from 223 to 150 in a year. I was regularly exercising but I wasn't eating right and in 2001, I moved back to my hometown stopped exercising and in a year I went from 150 to 240. I was depress once again and started a healthy eating routine with my mom and lost 40lbs. but moved once again and once again it came back because my eating habits deteriorated and stopped exercising. I got my doctor to put me on diet pills which didn’t work so I change doctors in 2006 and did the South Beach Diet where I lost 40lbs once again and once again here I am bigger than I have ever been too ashamed to mention my weight at this point. I am so frustrated with myself at this point, I have made a promise to the Lord if he helps me get this weight off once and for good, I will do everything in my power never to go back and become a motivator to help others achieve that goal. So, right now, my doctor has said that it was medically necessary for me to have the surgery, so I am waiting to attend a seminar by Dr. Titus Duncan which, the lady in the office told me it was required that all their patients attend before consideration for surgery so pray for me. I go to the seminar on April 11.
