2- 14-09 -- Mandatory Pre op class went well. Very informative. Meeting with Dr. Landers next week. Will decide on procedure at that time.
7-23-08 -- First appointment with my PCP at Group Health to get a WLS referral letter. Letter was written and forwarded to the Bariatric section of GH.
10-15-08 -- Phone intake appointment with Julie Grimm RN Bariatric Case Manager.
10-28-08 -- Bariatric Program Welcome Letter received via email on GH web site.
10-30-08 -- Bariatric Information packet arrived in mail. There are many tests to do and a Psycho-Social Assessment form to complete!
12-22-08 -- All tests completed. I dropped off the 24 hour urine sample at Group Health Downtown Seattle lab. It was so fun toting that lovely parcel around in the slush! Good news was that I didn't slip and the "package" arrived safely. YEAH! Next step is to purchase the 12 month Accomplish program for support after WLS - I can't have the surgery without it. I also completed a C-Pap test to see if my levels have changed. Apria Health care will pick that machine up from my house today. Hope the truck can get up my snowy hill. Been taking QVAR as prescribed by my pulmonary doc for asthma. It's been really helping my lungs, I had no idea that there would be such an improvement in my breathing capacity.
1-4-09 -- Purchased Accomplish program on December 29th. C-Pap level has been lowered from 11 to 8 and I am approved for a new cpap that adjusts automatically. If I am getting the model I'm thinking of, it's really compact and just a little larger than a clock radio. Went into see my PCP Dr. Ehrlich on 12-31-08, she's so supportive and positive. I asked to be weighed and I am still 364. She told me she had a couple patients who've done really well with the surgery so I'm even more excited. NEW - I am having to take care of the skin underneath my belly as it gets irritated sometimes. Last night was really painful, and I made sure to use a blow dryer on a cool setting after my shower which really helped. I am going to email my doctor and get that documented on my medical record.
