Hello. My name is Sammy and I am 34 years old from New Bern NC. I've struggled with my weight all of my life and now pushing close to 500 lbs. I am pursuing a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) as a tool to help me get this weight off of me. I've tried the old fashioned way with little to no success, only temporary losses. I went most of my life obese with little to no problem, but as of recent years comorbs are creeping up on me fast which include:
Sleep Apnea
Hypertension
Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver
Diverticular Disease
Pre Diabetes
Constant Back, Bone, Joint Pain
I know VSG is not the easy way out, and requires a huge lifestyle change. I am mentally ready, and I'm plain sick and tired of being sick and tired. I'm ready for the pain to go away. I have already began to practice habits needed post op now so I can maximize my success.
I am self pay as my Insurance is excluded, but I refuse to let that hold me back from receiving this life saving surgery.
