I went to Vista today to do my preop stuff. BJ was SOOOOOOOO nice. I cannot wait to go back on Thursday for the nutrition class!!!

As my luck would have it....I had to reschedule my RNY. I have bronchitis and just don't feel the anesthesia (sp) is a wise choice until I can breathe. I have been moved out until December 8,2006. I will still be going to vista hospital. But I know I should be in the best physical condition I can be before under going the surgery.

Hello world!!! So much has happened lately----and my date is getting so close. Where to start???? Biggest news....As of Friday Nov 10th I became a HOMEOWNER!!!OMG I still cannot believe it! We weren't even "ready" to buy......it just sort of happend, but I tell you I LOVE THAT HOUSE. We haven't moved in yet, we have been painting and making changes where we needed too....but the boxes will begin to leave for the new home 4 miles away tomorrow! The move itself will be interesting....my husband has injured his knee at work and I have been off with my back for close to 2 months. I can't lift, carry or hardly walk and he lims.....Hope those boxes can carry themselves. hahaha. Then on Friday, when we closed on the house I also came down with the "crud" that seems to be making everyone in Dallas sick. I have to go to the doctor now for some meds, since the coughing is now giving me "colorful" results, and I want to be clear for surgery. With all that going on, I haven't had time to think about surgery tooo much....but when it's late and I am the only one awake the panic sets in. I pray I have made a wise decision for my family and my health......

Well, Dr.Barker's office called today, and I have a date for the 2nd consult. I go in on 10/24/2006 at 1pm. I will then get my surgery date. I am so EXCITED. Tomorrow I have to go in and get the injections in my back, hopefully it will help the pain. I am sick of watching the weight go Up UP UP because I can't walk 50 feet even on pain meds.

I got the news today from the insurance company....I am approved!
I am in shock......I cannot believe that I am really going to get the surgery done. My paperwork was sent to UHC last Friday 10/06/2006 and I called today, the said it is going to be covered. The tentative date is 11/29/06, but the lady that handles ins for the surgeon said it will likely be sooner. I am so HAPPY. With my back trouble, I went to the doctor on Wednesday and he said what I never wanted to hear..." You need to see a surgeon to have your back operated on." I am so scared of surgery on my SPINE. I have a severe disc protrusion in my L5-S1 (7mm herneation) that is putting a very painful amount of pressure on both the left and right nerve. But the back doc said if my bypass was approved, he would wait to see if weight loss help to ease the pain I am in. I have also been off work the last 3 weeks with my back and since I can't move much at all, I have gained weight. This is so wonderful------I can't WAIT!
