I am just AMAZED at how well this surgery went!  I have to give many KUDOS to Dr. Sloan's bariatric team - they really have it all together.  I don't believe the surgery could have went any better.  Naturally, first few days I had pain, but I hardly used the morphine pump.  I do know they also put a "anti inflammatory" type medicine into my IV.  Once I got home I used my pain meds for a couple days and then didn't seem to need them anymore.  The hardest part has been figuring out "how much to eat".  Sure, I have eaten the amounts they say to eat and then tried to supplement with protein shakes but I think I was eating too much food trying to get all the protein in.  I have slowed down now, and have noticed that my new little pouch is much happier.  I guess I thought you had to drink ALL the protein drink once you made it - DUH!  With all of the thoughts going into this surgery of things that I might experience that other people have mentioned on this board - I haven't had ANY of them.
Nausea - NONE
Vomiting - NONE
Diarrhea - NONE
Hard time sipping water - NONE - I drink my water in the manner I have always done
Foods taste different - NONE - everything tastes the same as it did to me before surgery
Medicine pills too big to swallow - NOT AT ALL - I am able to swallow whole pills and capsules just like I did before surgery

It makes me wonder if the doctor I chose to do my surgery IS THE BEST EVER!  I am so thrilled with my progress so far.
