Progress and Stream of Consciousness

Jun 08, 2011

So, this morning, my fasting blood sugar was 146.  That, my friends, is progress.  I no longer am taking the Metformin, or the Amaryl, or the Lisinopril, or the Crestor.  My Levemir insulin dose has been decreased from 240 units (!) per day to FORTY.  I don't think it is too much to hope and expect that I will ultimately be completely off of that, too.

Nectar brand pink grapefruit-flavored protein drink has been mislabeled.  I don't think, though, that they'd sell very much of it if it were correctly labeled as being monkey-balls-flavored.

ON Gold Standard 100% Whey Chocolate flavored protein drink is deLISH, even mixed with water.  Now, perhaps if I'd tried it after I'd just had a full-on chocolate malt, I wouldn't be as enamored of it.  But after the above referenced monkey balls ... well, I'm enjoying it.

I'm getting intermittent crampy pain in the area of my stomach.  While the pain is there (approx 5 seconds each time), it makes it difficult to take a deep breath.  Normal?  I think I recall Dr. Kole mentioning this.

I feel thinner already.  Is that possible?

I don't think I'm going to weigh myself here at home.  I don't want to become a slave to the scale, and it'll make the weigh-ins at the office that much more exciting.

Isn't the background on my blog lovely?  It is a photo I took at Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland during our vacation last year to nearby Ocean City.  Assateague is where the wild ponies are.  I love that place.  Best place I've ever been to stargaze.  It literally took our breath away - the infinite inky blackness with countless dots of light, and we could even see the Milky Way.  Awesome.

That's all for now.
