well here it is friday already. 4 more days to my new birthday. the pre-admit office at the hospital called me earlier to get some more info from me & to discuss in general any concerns i might have about the surgery, the hospital stay & my recovery. the girl was so nice that we were talking as tho we were old friends. it just goes to prove that sometimes the boss does get it right & puts the right person on the job. my surgery is dr newhoff's first one tuesday at 130 pm. i am so glad to be first! i usually get stuck behind someone who surprises my surgeon with the unexpected & i wind up waiting hours for my surgery lol. now i can be the one causing the delay instead. of course i hope this will not be the case but i have a 27 year old incisional hernia & im sure lots & lots of lovely scar tissues & adhesions. my honey took me to super walmart tonite to stock what i think i will need in the pantry. all i bought was soups. i made sure to find soups with low sugars & high proteins so i wound up with lentil, which will be a first for me, split pea & ham, mmmmmm, beef with vegetables, mmm, double beef broth & a can of dennisons chili, also a first for me. does anyone know how to cut the spiciness of the chili if i find its too much? i am not a 'spicy' eater prefering flavor & taste with nothing to override it. hes such a great guy! with everything i have already bought to assist me in my new way of life, he kept asking me in the store 'r u sure u have everything u need? do u want to walk around the store & see if there's anything else u want?' hopefully i will get a private room & then he will be able to stay with me the whole time i am in the hosp. i cant wait!!!!!

Sheryl...I'm sorry your surgery date was moved, but I DO believe that there's a reason for everything so...you just have some extra "last meals" you can eat! LOL <p>My surgery is still TOMORROW, December 10th, as far as I know! I'm very excited and can't wait to be on the "other side"...<p>Good luck on the 18th...sending blessings to you!

sighhhhh...i must be psychic. i was so worried about my new surgery date of dec 11 being postponed after having to postpone my oct 20 date, & i was right. dr newhoff's office called me today to tell me they had to set my surgery back one week because they couldnt find an anesthestist to do my surgery on the 11th. while i was slightly annoyed & very disappointed i certainly couldnt argue with her because cindy was so kind to me when i had to cancel for oct 20th. sooooo...13 more days to go...again. lol. i guess lisa u will have to burn up the floors of good sam without me.

one more week til my new birthday!! woohoo!! i am soooooo ready for this! my surgery twin/roomie lisa & i r going to set the halls of good sam in phoenix on fire with our walks. i cant wait to meet my official angel georgia & my unofficial angel irene. i am not at all apprehensive about having the surgery as i feel in my heart that this is right for me & i will be fine. good luck to all my AMOS family no matter what step of the journey u r on.

Hi Sheryl, How are you feeling, excited? I hope so, I am excited too. My new life begins monday 12/3/2001. You and your twin Lisa U. are right behind me. I used to live in Phoenix 10 years ago. People from there are very nice, not like here in Miami. Oh well, I hope you are getting all your chores done. Take good care of yourself and keep us updated as to your progress. Ta Ta for Now...

Two weeks from today, roomie! We'll tear up the halls with our walks! I feel so blessed that I'll have you with me! Someone who understands WLS AND who is a patient of Dr. Newhoffs! It doesn't get any better than this (gee, do you think we can get a discount since he can visit us together, lol!!!)
