My name is Kendra and I'm 25 years old.  I am short in stature, only 4'10".  I was born with a disability called Sacral Agenesis, which limits what I can do with my legs.  I can walk, but I can't run or do many other "great" things with my legs.  I don't let my disability control me and I do anything that everyone else does.

I work for a major bank as a Systems Analyst and I love my job.  My job constantly makes me thrive to do better and learn new things.  I graduated in 2005 with a B.S. in Business Administration wtih a concentration in Computer Information Systems.  I'm currently in my first year of a MBA program at City University.  My emphasis is Project Management.

I was born a rather large baby - 9 lbs, 8 ozs.  During my childhood, up to age nine, I was average.  My father passed away when I was nine, and that's when the pounds packed on.  Since then, I have gone up and down with my weight.  For my height, they say I should weigh under 119.  I haven't been under 119 since I was thirteen years old.  For years, I fluctuated between 140 and 180.  However, in 2004 my weight continued to go up, and in 2007 I spiked at 255.

I've reached a point in my life where I want to change.  I've tried all sorts of diets (Calorie Counting, Body Bugg, Atkins, etc.).  My mom died at the age of 50, after having diabetes for over 20 years and very bad health.  She had been overweight all her life and had coronary artery disease.  I don't want to repeat history.  No matter how many diets I've tried and lost weight, it never stays gone.  I know this journey will be long and hard, but I can do it, and in the end be a healthier / happier version of me.  With the love of my husband, support of my friends and family, and the guidance of the doctors - I CAN DO THIS!
