I DID IT - and I moved my posts

Apr 15, 2010

I took this post off an old Blog I had on this Site...I no longer Need the Name  - JANSBBW - on OBHelp
so I'm moving everything over to here...  So Here's my posts from there..

Well it took me a long time to find a dr but I finally found Dr Michael Bilof who has a Bayville,NJ office
and had all my tests go smoothly and finally had surgery on March 31st 2010 at St Barnabas in Livingston NJ.

Everything went remarkably well and I almost feel as if I didn't do it but It could be the drugs lol..
HOWEVER, When I weighed myself at the hospital, I GAINED WEIGHT????
HOW in the world am I the only person on this earth who gains weight after a gastric bypass operation?   lol ...

I assume it had to do with the scale differences but OMG.. that' was a huge difference.
Anyway  now I'm home and its a week after the RNY surgery and I'm feeling the effects of  NOT eating ..
I'm so sick of broth and tea and jello and water and OMG.. WHAT ELSE CAN I HAVE????

I see the DR for my first checkup on Friday  April 9th so  I'm excited to see how much weight I've lost so far (IF ANY)  Be the first to leave a comment.

  FINALLY ON MY WAY
on January 25, 2010 11:42 pm

Well after Numerous Dr's who've told me NO they can't operate on me..
I found a Dr  (Dr Michael Bilof) who has agreed to do the surgery,
I'm also going thru the necessary testing that's needed to get clearance before surgery.

I was scared to death to get the chemical stress test but I had it done today ( Jan 25th 2010) and It wasn't nearly as bad as I had thought it would be. Actually the worse part was waiting 5 hours and the slight headache I had after the testing was over.  I'm a BIG BABY when it comes to Pain and Being Uncomfortable so this was a HUGE step for me to take.

I've now had my heart tests done and the pulmonary testing done so my next step is the tube down the throat test..
Something else I've been dreading but I know its necessary and it won't be so bad cuz I'll be asleep right? Right!!!

But I still get nervous and work myself into a frenzy. Being by myself thru this isn't easy either.  My Husband died 8 yrs ago
and I have 3 adult children who work and have familles of their own.  MY daughter had Gastric Bypass 5+ years ago and is doing great and will be there for me for my operation but the testing parts are hard for me to get thru alone also.

I WILL do it because I want the end result. To be able to get on a floor and play with my grandbabies without having to get my family to call a wrecker truck to come lift me up..lol..

Well So Here I Go.. I feel as if I'm 1/2 way there..

Wish Me Luck and I could use any & all support if you're up to giving me some feedback..
Thanks
Hugs Janice
