I'm in the hospital now, and they're giving me decaf tea, apple juice diluted with water, and Crystal Light. Should I be drinking all of this, and how fast should I be drinking it?

My surgery on Tuesday went well. Now, I'm just in a bit of pain. 

I'm staying an extra night in the hospital because my heart rate is high. They told me that is normal for patients who have never undergone major surgery,

I just wanted to say thank-you to everyone for the words of encouragement. I have never had major surgery, so I had a lot of thoughts running through my mind. I feel better about my surgery tomorrow, and I'm ready to do this.

I know that every hospital's protocol is different, but what happened on the day of your surgery from the time you arrived to the time you went into the OR?

I have to call the hospital between 2:00 and 2:30 to find out my arrival time for Tuesday's surgery. I'm starting to get really nervous! 

Had my blood tests and urine test done today. I also met with my surgeon, and he is very happy with how my pre-op process has gone. He says I will do very well with the surgery. Surgery will be Tuesday, and I will find out my admission time this Friday

I have to say that working at a grocery store during this two-week liquid diet is really rough, LOL. I want EVERYTHING!

I am wrapping up day two of this pre-op liquid diet. I have to say that's it's not too bad. I just keep telling myself that this is my last "diet," and I'll be on the operating table in no time.

I have probably talked to my insurance company thousands of times during this process, and I think I really need to take a chill pill. I keep making sure that everything will be covered and if there will be any changes when my plan renews on July 1st.

In order to have more time to recover before school starts, I asked my surgeon's office to bump-up my surgery date, and they bumped it up a week to July 5th. I start my liquid diet tomorrow! 

Crazy to think that I'll be getting this done in two

I have been reading posts about people who have had to pay fees for an anesthesiologist that was out-of-network. How do I know that everyone in the OR is going to be in my insurance network? 

Just looked at my mail today, and I got my official approval letter. How exciting! 

Is it common for the letter to say: "This pre-approval does not guarantee payment"? Is this just a CYA thing on the insurance company's behalf?

I'm getting excited for my surgery now that I have an actual date schedule; this surgery is becoming a reality instead of a possibility. I'm nervous, but I keep telling myself all the great things this surgery will do for me.

The coordinator at my surgeon's office called to schedule a date with me. My surgery is scheduled for July 12, and my second meeting with my surgeon is June 29. I guess I have to have an EKG, chest x-ray, and bloodwork done at the June 29th appointment

I have waited for the day since October to say that I have been approved, and that day is finally here. I'm so excited for this surgery and can't wait to start my new life.
