Comprehensive Weight Management Center. Bariatric Center

What was your first impression of him/her?
My first impression of Dr Cleveland was that he wants to help his patients with this problem. He has a concern for them and wants to see them get better and if this surgery is something that could do that then is ready to put you on the path...
How did your impression change over time?
Follow up visits with Dr Cleveland were very relaxed and informal. They gather all the information such as vitals and measurments and then you have a chat withh Dr Cleveland. It is very relaxed
How would you describe his/her office staff?
The staff is nice at the bariatric surgery center. There have been a couple of times that i have called and got a little attitude. especially when calling about insurance approvals but other than that all has went well.
What did you like least about him/her?
There is not a lot that I didn't like about Dr Cleveland. He seems to be a well rounded guy and kinda laid back and I like that.
How much does he/she emphasize aftercare?
I have always thought that the aftercare shouuld be beefed up a little at CMMC. Not neccesarily Dr Cleveland but mostly with the nutritional side of the spectrum. Dr Cleveland is very inquisitive about whhat you are doing and is open to answer any questions that you have.
How did he/she address the risks of surgery?
He went over every aspect of the surgery and thourally informed me of what could happen and whhat would happen in thhat instance.
How would you rate him/her overall?
out of 10 he would have a solid 8
Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both great?
both are pretty good. I did have complications but he was very informative as to what had happened and very quickly rectified things and got me back together.
Thanks Dr Cleveland

Dr. Cleveland is a very compassionate and caring doctor. He takes the time to discuss and answer questions. He makes sure that you understand everything before surgery. After surgery he is very concerned with your progress and helps you understand each step throughout the post-op process. The office staff at CMMC bariatric are ALL wonderful!! They meet all your needs, answer all your questions and take great care of you!! I have been so pleased with the entire process. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and I have lost 28 pounds. Dr. Cleveland and the entire staff have taken excellent care of me. The hospital staff were very attentive and supportive through the surgery and post-op time. The aftercare includes nutritional classes, support group meeting, exercise program and I plan on taking advantage of all the programs. I would rate Dr. Cleveland a 10 and I have no complaints or suggestions for improvements!!

I first met Dr. Cleveland at a seminar, I thought he was very nice and friendly. He spoke at the seminar and he was very informative about the surgery. From what I know about him as of today and his staff, I believe he is a great Doctor and his Staff are well mannered and very friendly, all seem to be very caring.

My first impression of Dr.Blake was that he is very professional and great bed side manners. He helped me fully understand the surgery procedures and was concerned about me getting healthy. His staff was great as well. I was looking forward to having my surgery done by him I had already did my labs and was about to go for my phys evaulation when I found out that Dr. Blake was not in my insurance network. I was concerned about this knowing I couldn't afford the surgery. Dr. Blakes staff was great they referred me to Dr. Cleveland which I haven't met yet but I am going to one of his sminars on 2/2/04 I can't wait. I rate Dr. Blake and his staff a 10
Thanks you guys.
I haven't met Dr. Cleveland yet. I'm looking forward to attending the seminar. My only dishearten news I have thus far is Dr.Clevelands office is not accepting my insurance United Health Care right now they are in renegotiations right now. Ms. Vance did inform me though that they hoped to have the issues resolved by March or April. so hopefully I will be on my way to becoming healthier....

My first impression was that he was tall and skinny. Very small, thin hands. Surgeon's hands. He was very personable. When I saw him pre-op and on surgery day, he had great bedside manner and joked with me. His staff is great. He has surrounded himself with bariatric surgery patients as his staff. He seems to be rather moody, and of course a very health conscious person, but not to the point of being obnoxious about it. Future patients should know they've got a great doctor and look for a scolding if you don't follow the plan like he says too. Dr. Cleveland has a great support system for the bariatric patient. They have a nutritionist, an associate psychologist, a support group, and a fitness program. He was very forthcoming about the risks, but with all my co-morbidities, the weight was a bigger risk. I would rate Dr. Cleveland as topnotch. I am so grateful to him and God for this surgery. His bedside manner is only outshined by his surgical ability. He is truely a star!

Dr Cleveland has excellent bedside manner and put me at ease with telling me everything i needed to know about the Surgery office staff is very cheerful and nice to deal with, Dr Cleveland Started the Bariatric Surgery Center at Central Mississippi Hospital here in Jackson. We currently have a regular monthly support group and also have seminars 2 times a month.

My very first time to visually see Dr. Cleveland was at an information seminar. I honestly thought what can he know about obesity? He is so thin. We'll I know what it feels like to be judged by your weight so I was ashamed of myself for even thinking that thought.
I had attented the meeting for general information. Thanks to his wonderful staff member Sandra. She supplied me with some information which has made it possible to have GP surgery.
I had a preadmission? interview and follow up today with Dr. Cleveland. I really like him and he has a wonderful and engaging bedside manner.
Looking forward to working with him and his staff.
