I am using Dr. David Carroll. He is a surgeon in Jackson, MS and he had done many surgeries of this type. He firmly believes in the lap-banding surgery but was willing and has done the r-Y surgery. I am set with him and I was very impressed with how he treated me with respect and compassion. His office was nice and didn't look down at me. He put my husband more at ease and yet he did talk about the risks, the stats of the risks and the fact that this program is a life-style change.

Dr. Cleveland was very informative, his staff was very polite and willing to help in any way. They seemed a little busy and impersonal, but over all I give them a 8.5
Like I mentioned before my second visit was much better. Dr. Cleveland has such a great personality. I can tell that has been blessed with a great bed side manner. THank you Dr. Cleveland and staff.I would also like to change my rating from 8.5 to 9.5.

He was very nice and friendly,not standoffish.He even accompanied me to another floor for my nutritional consult.

Impression is unchanged.But I did just meet him.

The exam room area leaves a bit to be desired but the staff were very punctual and very professional.Also very kind.

He was on time and professional.He asked me if I had any questions.I did and he answered them all satisfactorily.

He went over the procedures and explained why he did not do the malabsorbtive constriction procedure.He also explained the risks of surgery and the importance of aftercare.

Overall,on a scale of 1-10,he's definitely a 8.99999!
Which is better,surgical competence,bedside manner,or both great?I think both are.I wouldn't want a robot to operate on me.But I also don't want Jerry Lewis either.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I first meet Dr Cleveland, but he put me at ease very quickly. Dr Cleveland was very informative and he told me the pros and cons of having this surgery. Dr Cleveland is GREAT!!! His office staff is also very friendly and helpful. I haven't found anything that I dislike about the care I received from Dr Cleveland and his staff. Dr Cleveland has a great bedside manner and will CARE for you as a person, not as a number. He truly cares, and he stays with you through the aftercare, anything you need he is there.
He addressed all the risks of the surgery with me and allowed me to ask all the questions I needed to. He was very informative.
DR CLEVELAND IS THE BEST IN MY OPINION!
On a scale of 1-10, Dr Cleveland was a 100 in my book!!!!!!!!!!

I feel in love with my doctor right away. As he explained the surgery, the pros and cons, the reason I should, etc. I just shed tears. I felt as if he was really concerned about me. He didn't try to make me feel bad, but he let me know, he wanted me to live.
His staff was very friendly, as well as helpful. After my first scheduled surgery date, I got cold feet and made another appointment to meet with him.
Dr. Cleveland didn't have a problem with it at all. He answered every one of my questions without hesitation. He also was very frank and honest about complications, even the possibility of death.
The only thing that needs more help is getting a support group formed locally. I'll update more after I have surgery. My surgery is scheduled for May 14.....I'm very scared and really need some support.

My surgery was uneventful. I had no complications. Mt doctor was wonderful. He met with my family the morning if the surgery and that was very important to me.
The surgical staff was wonderful, but the hospital need to work on other staff members when it comes to dealing with obese patients.
