South Texas Surgeons, P.A. Bariatric Center

First impression: Competent and very assured about his ability but had little else to say about himself, probably some social phobia but all in all a very warm person. rnMy impression has not changed, as I have seen him 3x after introduction, he still has little to say but continues to be very caring and concerned. Both surgeons in this office are extremely patient oriented. The office staff is friendly. I would have liked to have met someone who had gone through this prior to my surgery so some of my fears/concerns could be quieted. Future patients may have to have what I have learned to acquire, a bit of faith in both my surgeon and God and know that more will be revealed later. Aftercare was stressed before the surgery, which made me feel like my progress/success was important to them as well. Overall, my rating of the surgeon, nutritionist and support staff as well as the insurance clerks were above my expectations.

Dr. Wright on first impression very professional and straight forward. rnMy impression overtime hasn't changed.rnThe medical and dietian staff is very good. rnInsurance staff was a little slow and didn't keep me informed as I like. I had to stay on top of them. They need more help.rnHe emphasized alot on after care and doing what is right the patient not just a general overall care of the program. rnHe addressed the risks of surgery very well. rnI would give him a 9 overall out of 10.rnHe was fine on both.rnrn

My first impression of Dr. Carcamo was very positive. At my initial consult he acted as if he had all the time in the world for me, and answered all my questions in detail. He is a very good listener. The office staff is very freindly and was very compassionate when I called with a \"crisis\". Aftercare is greatly emphasized and the monthly support group meetings are fun and informative. This risk of surgery was outlined in detail. I would rate Dr. Carcamo a 10 out of 10. I did extensive research and was very confident in his surgical competence. His bedside manner was as expected. He is the only surgeon I would have chosen in this area. I am so happy I went with Dr. Carcamo for my lap band. Dr. Carcamo is wonderful.

Dr. Wright was so awesome the first time I met him, made me feel at ease and comfortable and was confident I would be successful! He is still so awesome and helpful, I fly back to San Antonio for my appts. rnHe was a bit standofish at first, but I think he was trying to see if I was serious about losing weight and trying hard. When my average was 10lbs a month he definitly began to warm up to me! He is very supportive.rn I reccomend Dr. Wright to anyone..and have had many friends go to him!

Dr. Gerardo E. Carcamo, M.D.rn414 Navarro, Suite 810rnSan Antonio Texas 78205rn210-220-1726rnHe is a straight foward doctor, he tell's you how it is. With the appointment's my impression changed. He's office staff are kind and understanding they get the job done. There was nothing to disslike about him.rnThey should know he is straight foward with you. He emphasize's alot . Yes he has an aftercare program. He tells you the pro's and con's of it. He is an excellent doctor i wouldn't want anyone else. They are both great. My both insurance's took care of my bill's for the doctor. He got paid by both of my insurance's.

Dr. Carcamo is a genuinely admirable Doctor. In the time I got to speak to him, I came to the conclusion that he, beyond question, cares about what I am about to go through. He took his time and explained in detail my procedure and what is expected of me before and aftewards. He answered every single question I had. His staff were some of the nicest ladies anyone could meet. They all have one goal in common and that is to see their patients succeed. And they will do whatever they can to have that come to fruition. Dr. Carcamo has a structured aftercare program and him and his staff emphasized importance on joining his online support group, which works perfectly for me as I am 4 1/2 hrs away from him. I will be seen every month for the first year. Dr. Carcamo addressed the risks of surgery very openly but he, as well as I, believe I am going to have an uneventful surgery. I believe surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important. If I had to rate him, he would be a 10.
