Dr. Carcamo is a wonderful surgeon and listens to your questions and concerns. His caring staff is a great service to their patients and makes them feel very comfortable. I a very fortunate to have Dr. Carcamo as my surgeon

So far everything is OK. I don't feel a personal relationship with my doctor as some other WLS patients do, but that may come in time. My approval process was quick and painless and did not require a lot of interaction with the doctor or his office.

Dr. Carcamo Weight Loss Seminar was informative and realistic. Office staff is nice and helpful. Love the nutritionist Kath- she is FABULOUS!!

I did feel that I was not completely informed as well as I could have been when it came to discussing fees and amount paid by insurance. I was advised that my insurance covered the surgery, and I was advised of a $500.00 fee that was due out of pocket. My problem is this was never submitted to my insurance company. Even though, they may not allow reimbursement or take claims as it pays for nutritionist, it still should have counted towards my out of pocket deductable. I have asked for an itemized invoice more than 3 times and still have not received it. The surgery was great and well worth it, but I would have felt much better had someone really explained the out of pocket expenses, and that there were doctor fees and then hospital fees were completely separate. I found out two days before surgery!

When I met Dr Wright, my husband & I thought he was knowleadgeable, patient with our questions and understood the frustration I was going through with my weight problems. He had that bedside manner that most health care providers are missing now days. My impression since my surgery April 21, 2005 has not changed a bit. Now, during my visit to the Nutritionist, the staff had misplaced my forms and it was a little frustrating trying to remember information provided that I didn't have with me. However, the Nutritionist made up for my frustration by being cordial and ready to answer questions that I considered "silly". The day of the surgery, I was called to present myself earlier since a patient had cancelled their surgery. I was there at 8:00 AM and I was admitted to the hospital but my surgery didn't start until probably 4 PM. I was not satisfied with the staff this day. I would say to future patients they are in good hands for their surgeries. Dr Wright & Dr Carcamo are competent and excellent surgeons. Their office has a complete staff that ranges from Psychiatrist help, Nutritionist, members of their staff who already have gone through the surgery themselves, who can relate to you. I had an easy recovery time and was back at work after 2 weeks, because of the clear instructions for post-op care. All risks were addressed during a semminar that I attended prior to the first visit with Dr Wright. This semminar is offered by Dr Wright & Dr Carcamo. I would rate him as a Surgeon at 100% however, his staff at about 85% at this time. I can say this though since my surgery I have seen additional staff members taking care of patients & forms. This has reassured me that they are listening to their patients. In my book I think that a surgeon has to be competent in his work and also provide bedside manner to their patients to reassure them by giving a "human touch" to the procedure.

Dr. Carcamo has made a very good impression on me. He seems to really care and wants to make sure you understand the band is a "tool" for losing weight. His Office seems to be very knowledgable and pleasant to deal with. I have just begun the process, but the seminar and my first visit went very well. I knew going to my consult today with him that I am 100% ready to go for this. His office is located in the Nix Hospital which makes it very convenient.

I first heard and saw Dr.Wright at a seminar that my husband and I attended in November. Both he and his associate spoke at the seminar. I was impressed at his staight forwardness and self confident approach. At my consult appointment I was even more impressed at the non judgemental attitude he took with me. I have Bipolar Disorder, most MD's hear that and run. His office staff is so very professional, yet very quick to make you feel at ease. Tiffany got me from our first introduction. She cares about and wants to help people, it is so evident. Katherine has been so helpful with my nutrition plan. I have not yet started with my support group, but will soon do this because I was made to understand how important to sucess this is. I would recommend Dr. Wright to any one who is looking for a knowledgable and competent surgeon, with a kind and caring bedside manner.

My first impression of Dr Carcamo was that, finally I found someone who is really interested in my needs and my health. And throughout my journey he has become a very important part of my life. As we all know, this is a lifetime commitment and I am very happy to make this commitment to such a wonderful and helpful doctor. His staff is the best in the world. Always helpful and concerned with your progess. They have gone above and beyond the line of duty to make me feel comfortable. There is nothing that I do not like about Dr Carcamo or his staff. They are an A++. Patients should know that he is honest and very willing to help. This is not for people who just want a better appearance, this is for people who want a better way of life and Dr Carcamo does not paint a picture for you or treat you like a number. I know that I am no longer a statistic, but a real person battling this disease with a real doctor. Dr Carcamo emphasized in great detail how important the aftercare is. It is what makes my surgery successful. Following his plan has assisted me in losing weigth consistantly. Dr Carcamo addressed all and any risk involved in during an extensive office visit prior to surgery. He wanted to make sure I understood that this was a tool to assist me with wieght loss. Dr Carcamo is the best, he and his associate Dr Wright have changed my life. I know that I have been blessed to have them provide me with the surgery and a change of life. Dr Carcamo has great bedside manner and surgical component traits. I would recommend him to anyone who is in search of a doctor for the lap band surgery.

I was a little leary of Dr Wright in the beginning, but basically I think it was my own inhibitions that made me feel that way. Dr Wright is a great surgeaon and has a wonderful demeanor once you see him more than once. He has a great sense of humor. His office staff is the best. They are warm and welcoming. Tiffany B, Marylou, Lisa........ They are all so friendly, they really care about their surgeons and most of all their patients. The most important thing about your aftercare is the support group meeting. Dr. Wright's staff makes sure you know this. You have to commit to attending the group meetings. We meet 2x per month and there is always are always members of his staff there. I would rate this experience as one of the better is you decide to have this surgery. He and his staff are very knowledgable about the lap band and do not hestiate to share the infformation. I would rate Dr Wright and his staff as extremely friendly, competent and their bedside manner rates a superior in my book!
