Surgery Specialty Hospitals of America Bariatric Center

Very personable person and understanding. rnrnNow feel as close to him as a friend.rnrnOffice staff is excellent treat you like you are the only patient calling in.rnrnNo dislikesrnrnHe is going to tell you gently but firmly how it really is.rnrnVery good aftercare, stronly encourages support group.rnrnReferrals to several support groups.rnrnAddressed the risks very plainly did not sugar coat it.rnrnOverall EXCELLENT and I rarely rate anyone that good.rnrnBoth are great I trusted him with my youngest daughther and would not hesitate to trust with any of my children or family.rnrnThis of course my personal experience. I like his frankness in his explaination of the chance of failure if you do not use this operation as a tool and change your way of eating. Any surgeon that says it is easy and you can eat like you always have is just not being truthful.

My first impression with Dr. Alanis was very informational. My impression of Dr. Alanis is over wheelming. But over all he is a wonderful doctor and I don't regret chooseing him out of six other doctors that I was researched. Future patients should know he is a warm, conforting doctor. Dr. Alanis emhasixe aftercare to the max. There aftercare is very structured and sticked. When you go into his office for you consulation he tells you all the information in regards to the surgery if it good or bad. Dr. Alanis is very up front and honest. If I had to rate Dr. Alanis I would rate a 10+. His surgical competence, bedside manner and out of this world. Thanks Dr. Alanis for changing my life from the worst to the better!!!!!

I honestly have to say that Dr. Miranda is one of the greatest Dr.'s I have ever seen. When I first met him, he looked so serious about the surgery, which at that point I was serious but not yet approved; so I did not want to get my hopes up and then be denied by insurance, so I could not be as serious as he was. He explained to me everything that could go wrong plus all the benefits of the surgery. I had went to him with the mindset I was going to do the Lap Band, but Dr. Miranda helped my change my mind and go with the Lap RNY, because he told me I would probably be more happy with the RNY. He never once told me not to do one or the other, he was just making sure I would be happy with my decision. rnThe day of my surgery, I was scheduled for 12:00 p.m. but Dr. Miranda was in helping with another Dr. and they told me I was then scheduled for 1:30 p.m. After I went down to get hooked up with the IV, Dr. Miranda walked into the room wanting to know why I was not in the surgery room yet? He was so upset, and at first I thought he was upset with me but he told me I did nothing wrong, he was just upset because the nurses were not doing there job. He is a very caring, wonderful doctor and I would totally recommend him to anyone considering to have this surgery in Houston. He does take his profession very serious and any question you may have Dr. Miranda will answer each and every one of them. Also when I go see him, he never rushes you like most Dr.'s do because he is just not after your money like most Dr's are. He cares about each patient and their concerns. I give Dr. Miranda a 10+.rnrnThanks for changing my life,rnRebecca Parks :)Dr. Miranda \"YOU ARE THE BEST\"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and my ANGEL!rn

My surgeon was excellent. He really cares. he had great bedside manor and I have recomended him to all my friends. Everyone in hi soffice is always willing to help and they know you by first name basis and are always willing to help. He is very strict with after care procedures and but full faith in you that you can do it!!

Dr. Alanis was referred to me by a friend who used him a year before me. I was in search of a new one and decided to give him a try. I was not disappointed! He is the most thoughtful, considerate, sincere, and trustworthy doctor I have ever met. I would not trade him for anything. He was easy to talk to and actually spent time with me to answer my questions. He is truly dedicated to his work and loves what he does. His bedside manner is wonderful and nothing is too small a request for him. I LOVE HIM!!!

Right off the bat I could tell that he was going to be strict , which I respected because I have congestive heart failure, and obstructed lungs . I knew that I was going to have special needs and clearances to get this surgery (RnY) to survive it. I feel that him and his staff are very sincere about improving my health and my quality of life. I can answer the rest later in my journey to the smaller heathier me!!!!!!! wish me luck!!!

Kind, sincere the whole way through. Adept to his trade catching small details before they become big problems in the after care (days) of surgery. Would like to see him more pursuent on nutrition details afterwards. He was with Neweigh when I was with him but has since separated from them. Cares for his patients on a personal level. Respected in a broad area by other physicians at multipal levels. Surgical, bedside all great.
