My first impression of Dr. Sieloff was that he was a caring, compassionate man. After I had the surgery, I KNOW he's a caring, compassionate man! Tracy, Jodi and the telephone operator (sorry, can't remember her name) were absolutely wonderfu. I called several times before and after surgery and they were always accomodating. They answered any questions I had very timely and concisely (even told me no-no's)!
Dr. Sieloff's bedside manner is absolutely wonderful. The morning after my surgery, he even met me down in the X-ray department when I had to drink that nasty nasty barrium stuff and stood and talked with me for a while. He absolutely made me feel that I was the only patient he had at the time (knowing full well I wasn't). The surgery is not as bad as some people make it out to be. I went in with EXTREME worry. Came out thinking, dang, wish I would've done it years ago. I have had no problems from the surgery whatsoever and have almost lost a half a person :) what a great feeling. I have more energy that I have in years, and get compliments all the time. It's amazing what a few 10-20-30-40 etc. pounds will do! Send me an e-mail if you have any questions, I'm always excited to talk about it!

I was already aware of his excellent reputation in my community. I had my gallbladder removed several years ago by one of this partners and had no problems then. When I met him, I was impressed with his manner and obvious caring attitude. He took his time, never rushing through the visit, answered all my questions carefully and explained things so a lay person could understand. I am over the age limit of 55 which is usually the cut off point where this surgery is done in his practice but he listened to me and the reasons I wanted this surgery and agreed to consider my case after reviewing my medical history and consulting with my family doctor. His office staff is very helpful. My phone calls were returned the same day. His nurse Jody is very knowledgable too and just as sensitive and caring. I have been told his office staff is very helpful in advising you regarding the tests needed and then helping you get insurance approval. I did not need this service as I had approval from my HMO and had many of the tests required already done there. I asked about an aftercare program and was told they were in the process of organizing one. I was given a booklet regarding this surgery and it had many suggestions and instructions for aftercare and how, when and what to eat.

Dr. Sieloff is a very kind and considerate surgeon. He clearly explained what procedure and what I could expect from it. He treats his patients with respect and kindness. He has been consistently attentive and never rushes you.

His staff, Tracy (his office person) and Jodi (his nurse) are very patient, helpful and friendly.

What I liked the least is that his office doesn't bill the insurance company electronically and snail-mail is so slow. However, after my file was complete I provided them a pre-paid US mail overnight letter envelope to send the file to the insurance company for approval.

Dr. Sieloff's post-op instructions are clear and simple.

While there is no "support group" currently, it is my understanding that one of Dr. Sieloff's patients is trying to get one started.

In discussing the procedure Dr. Sieloff adequately discusses both the risks and the benefits of the procedure.

I would rate Dr. Sieloff and his staff as outstanding!!! Both his surgical competence and patient manner is great.

My first impression was that he was a kind, capable man. My first impression was that he was YOUNG. His nurse and office staff are very supportive and have good follow through. Jodi is a very capable, professional and knowledgable nurse. I didn't like the lack of information, but the book he gave me guided me through all I needed to know. I think they have good follow through. My 10-day follow up will be here soon. Yes. Excellent Surgeon. Excellent surgeon, kind of quiet and shy, but very capable, skilled and caring. His voice is very caring and his eyes are too. A gentle man I think. A good man and excellent surgeon. Did I say he was an excellent surgeon. The anesthesiologist was excellent too. A very handsome Dr. O'Neal. B:) but that is just my opinion...lol.

I liked his bedside manners. He didnt go into detail about the procedure and I didnt have that many questions at the time. I am now waiting to see if my insurance will approve me. My first appointment with Dr. Sieloff was December 17, they didnt submit any paperwork to my insurance company until Feb. I received a letter from Dr.Sieloff's office requesting a letter from my primary care doctor. I sent that in on 4-8-02 and I am still waiting to hear something. The Dr. didnt go into the aftercare at all. I have learned everything about the surgery here at obesity.com. If I am approved I plan to discuss all my questions with him directly.

On my initial consultation with Dr Sieloff, he was very informative and took time with me to explain the surgery to me. The staff answered my questions and offered for me to call their office if I had any other questions.
The insurance manager, Tracy, was so helpful with getting the paperwork together for the insurance approval. The whole process took about 6 weeks, but she made me aware of the status as soon as we got the approval.

My first impression of Dr. Sieloff was a good one. I thought he was very pleasent and informative. He started going over the procedue and explained everything that I needed to know but really didn't leave any time for me to ask him some of my own questions. I had to squeeze a few of my own in there as he was getting ready to walk out the door. The office staff so far is ok i haven't really had to deal with them that much yet. We'll see closer to surgery (when I get approved)
He never really mentioned anything about the aftercare and that was really one of my concerns. I guess I'll have to call and ask his nurse what I want to know.
He didn't mention any of the risks his nurse just gave me a packet to take home and read.

My first impression of Dr. Sieloff was that of a warm compassionate person who genuinely wants to help improve the quality of his patients' lives.

His staff is very competent. They can answer any questions you may have, ranging from insurance questions to inquiries about the surgery itself. They welcome your phone calls and seem to really believe in what they are doing.
