I read a lot of good things about him prior to the surgery and he did an AWESOME job with my DS. However, I didn't feel any real connection to him - saw him 1 minute before the surgery and about 1 minute on the day I left But, seeing how well the surgery went, perhaps that was all I needed!

I really like Dr. Hargroder. He is very straight forward and to the point and has a wonderful bed side manner. He is very concerned about his patients and how they are doing before and after surgery. I liked the way, in pre op, he asked my family if they had any questions about the procedure. He even cared about keeping them informed of how I was doing and what was going on in the OR. I would recommend Dr. Hargroder and his team to anyone considering bariatric surgery!

Dr. Hargroder is amazing. I asked around before my consultation and nobody had a bad thing to say. When I met him, he was very straight forward about the surgery, yet laid back and his demeanor really puts you at ease. My BMI was 75 and my surgery went great. I had Lap RNY and was in and out within an hour and have been doing great so far. I would recommend Dr. Hargroder in a heartbeat.

My surgeon was Dr. Andrew Hargroader of Baton Rouge, LA. His staff was really wonderful. However, I didn't get to talk with him very much before my surgery. Vista Hospital was also great.

Dr Drake Bellanger is doing my Lap Band surgery on June 7 at 730am at Vista Surgical Center. So far I would say he has been very thorough in his explanation of the process. But what impressed me most was his questions of me: Tell me what you understand about this surgery? Why do you want to have this surgery? What research have you done? It was an indicator to me that he's not in it for the cash. He seemed to really be weighing my answers. rnrnThe staff in his office have been WONDERFUL. I will write more after surgery as well.

Although I have not had weight loss surgery, I've established a relationship with Dr. Hagroder's office. Kristi is his right hand woman and is awesome. She knows how bad I want the surgery and keeps me updated on ways she thinks might help. Hopefully, I will e able to save enough money to have the surgery before long. What I am truly wishing is that the laws would change and insurance companies would be forced to pay for the surgery. To me it is no different than someone needing surgery for any other illness.

I was told by a friend that Dr. Hargroder was a nice, informative and a great doctor. In her opinion I could not find a better surgeon. She was correct! He was everything she said and more. His office staff are the BEST! They have been very patient with my requests and concerns.

Quiet, mild mannered. Willing to spend all the time I wanted answering questions with me and my husband. Office staff wonderful and nice, very helpful. I didn't like that he wouldn't answer questions about nutrition directly, but rather wanted me to speak to his nutritionist at the surgical center instead. It was hard to wait for that appointment.

He has a support group that meets every Wednesday night, and stresses the importance of these meetings.
