My surgeon is a wonderful person. He is very strict about following the diet after wls. You know everything about the pros & cons conserning wls so u will know exactly what u r getting in to.

I met Dr. Madan at his seminar on October 30,2004. He was very informative and stayed after to answer more questions. I talked to him for 15 minutes myself with his associate. He seemed to really know what he was talking about and I can't wait to see him again after my new insurance kicks in. I had a list of questions that I was going to ask the other doctor I had whenever I got to see him. Dr. Madan answered them all for me at the seminar when I asked him and he told me he could tell I really had been researching and had my mind set on having the surgery. He also said he looked foward to seeing me again. His insurace person was great and said she will do anything it takes to get people approved by their insurance and told people to never give up and she won't give up either. I saw Dr. Tichansky on 2/17/2005 for my initial consult and he was a very nice person. Very informative and caring. I found out on June 27, 2005 Dr. Tichansky will do my surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Madan was that of a knowledgeable and caring physician. He spent time explaining the procedure and learning about me as a person. He truly was interested in my journey and health. During my pre-operative period, he was available via e-mail to answer questions and explain things which put me at ease with making the decisions I had to make to feel personally ready to undergo this major operation. My impression of him today remains that he is a competent, knowledgeable physician who is compassionate and cares for his patients. He takes time with each of his patients and becomes their healthcare partner for their weightloss journey. The office staff at UTMG is a staff of family. They journey with you and share your excitement during your journey as well as your struggles and milestones. They really do care about you. You aren't just another patient, you are individual. The office wait time is the only negative aspect of my experience, but after having my visit and seeing the amount of time that is spent with the patient, it is truly an individualized plan of care for each patient. Dr. Madan and his staff, stress the importance of making an informed decision and that they are not magicians, they provide you with tools to success. They stress that aftercare is important and the support group meetings are at their offices as well as an off-site (out of town) group for people who live over 1 hour away. People can choose where they wish to attend support group. There is a plan for your lifetime follow-up and it is thorough. There is a structured aftercare program, and he is dedicated to his patients. He is very, VERY thorough with explaining all the risks and we worked up any risks that may have been a possibility based on the thorough history and physical that is done, we looked at potential risks based on my mother's medical history. It was very extensive. Overall I would rate Dr. Madan as a highly competent surgeon. To me, it is important that patient's find out about their surgeon's competence, feel comfortable about the bedside manner of their surgeon and feel that the surgeon truly knows and cares about the decisions they are making together as a team. It is a vital part of a successful weightloss jouney.

My first impression of Dr. Madan was one of great respect. He was being featured on an evening news story in Memphis, TN. After following up with the news story and making my initial appointment,I was slightly disappointed with the length of my visit.But after meeting with him, I knew that Madan was to become my surgeon. Dr. Madan is a very thorough surgeon. He leaves no stone unturned. He is very strict with before, as well as aftercare and truly holds his patients accountable. But that's actually one of the things that I like most about him.

MADAN WAS ...HE'S VERY PROFESSIONAL..KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE'S TO DO.......I ALSO LOVE HIS OFFICE STAFF THEY ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD....I HAD A FEW MINOR PROBLEMS AFTER SURGERY(JUST ME OVER REACTING)I CALLED THE AFTER HOURS ANSWERING SERVICE & EVERY TIME I CALLED THE MESSAGE ALWAYS GOT TO DR.MADAN & HE CALLED ME RIGHT BACK WITH WHAT WAS TO BE DONE & FOLLOW UP W/ HIM THE NEXT AM.....AGAIN DR.MADAN IS THE BEST....................

Very excellent surgeon and very professional and knowledgeable. His office staff was also excellent and very helpful! I strongly urge anyone in the Memphis area to contact Dr. madan and his staff if you are considering this surgery! he and his staff have become a part of my new life and I consider Dr. Madan and all of his staff great friends to have on my side!
