Dr. Mitchell is now in Charleston, SC..met him at the St. Francis informational meeting for people considering wls...Seems like a warm and funny guy. You can tell he has a good bedside manner and is very passionate about what he does.

Dr. Mitchell is the best. My first impression was that he put patient safety first. He has continued to prove me right. His staff is excellent. A smart person surrounds themself with great people, and he has done just that.

My surgeon was Dr. Mitchell @ Pinehurst Surgical. My first impression of him was that he was a funny man. Over time my impression begin to change because I notice how patient, polite, and caring he and his staff is. The ladies there are on point and make sure that you are well aware of what you are doing and the commitment he has to his patients. I will never forget that he told us this was like a marriage we will be together forever. I also like the fact that he is not just about money but about his patients. He also advised us that he will not save our lives through sugery to have us kill ourselves through another way.

I traveled over an hour to go to his office because of all of the sucess stories that I see around me. Although he has a great sensor of humor he is very serious about his patients and there health.

Dr. Mitchell is a very competent surgeon with awesome bedside manners. This is why his center is a sevice of excellence.

My first inpression of Dr. Mitchell was that he was a very caring man. I felt he knew what he was doing and I was very comfortable from the very beginning. Dr Mitchell and Brett his assistant seem to genuinaly care.rnBoth Brett and Dr. Mitchell's competence and bedside manners are off the charts. I would recommend First Health and Dr. Kenneth Mitchell it ANYONE who's interested in RNY Gastric Bypass.I do wish I had been able to spend more time talking with Dr. Mitchell but then if I'd asked he would have probably have been there.

Dr. Mitchell takes the time to really listen and talk with you about your concerns. I really appreciate my second consult with him, since I decided to change from the Band to the RNY. rnrnI am so pleased that I am Dr. Mitchell's patients. I am so thankful for his skill and knowledge.

I went to the seminar presented by Dr. Mitchell on 02/05/09. I was amazed by the honesty and sincerity of Dr. Mitchell in answering the questions and explaining the different procedures. I knew that night when the seminar was over that I wanted Gastric By Pass and I wanted Dr. Mitchell to do it. When I went for my consultation he answered all my questions and was the kindest of person you would ever meet. He addressed the risk of the surgery and talked to me about the follow up care that I would require. He didn't rush in and out. He took his time with me answering my list of questions that I had wrote down and explained things to me and asked me what I knew about the procedures. I have never met a more competent doctor in all my life. My surgery is scheduled for Thursday, 05/21/09 only a few days away. I completely trust Dr. Mitchell with my life. All of Dr. Mitchell's staff have been so wonderful to me. I do have to mention how helpful they all were to me I know they got tired of getting e-mails and phone calls from me but they always answered all my questions and were so nice. Thank you Jan, Carolyn and Donna for helping me get through the process of getting approved for the surgery and for being so kind to me. I know I worried Jan so much before I went for my consultation appointment it seemed like everyday I was e-mailing or calling her with a question or concern and she always e-mailed me back or called. I was worried and scared and she made me feel so at ease. I also kept in frequent contact with Carolyn and the day she sent me an e-mail at work telling me I could celebrate that I had been approved for Gastric By Pass. I had sent her an e-mail and asked her if she would e-mail me when she heard from my insurance company and as soon as she did she took the time to send me that wonderful e-mail and I will never forget that. Dr. Mitchell's PA, Melissa, is a wonderful person and is a joy to see when I go for my check-ups, she always ask how things are going and if I have any questions she answers them. All of the nurses are so nice and friendly. I can truly say that Dr. Mitchell is wonderful and has a wonderful staff. I look forward to my check-ups and seeing everyone. If anyone is considering Weight Loss Surgery, I suggest that you attend one of Dr. Mitchell's seminars and listen to him. He is very honest and does not \"sugar coat\" the procedures. He tells you the facts and that is what you need to know along with the risk involved with the surgery and that it is a lifetime life style change. My husband and I met Dr. Mitchell for the first time in November of last year at a Bariatric Info. Session. We both liked him immediately. He is kind, caring and compassionate. He and his team are very professional and they made sure that we were informed of all aspects of the surgery that we chose. His bariatric program is recognized as a Bariatric Center of Excellence and it is because of the dedication and supreme level of care that he and his staff exhibit to each individual patient. I cannot praise Dr. Mitchell enough. He is a wonderful surgeon and a remarkable man. He is professional but at the same time has a wonderful sense of humor that will immediately put you at ease. My husband and I give him an overall rating of excellent in both surgical competence and bedside manner. His patients must sign a contract promising to follow his guidelines and commit to his aftercare program.

I have met with him twice and he really is just down to earth and seems like someone I would want to be friends with if he wasn't my surgeon. He is very personable and makes you feel relaxed and like you are his only patient. I will let you know more as I get further into the process!

I cannot recommend this surgeon or his facility enough! If you are looking for someone to just perform the surgery and stay out of your life, then he is NOT the one. I liked Dr. Mitchell immediatley at the informational seminar I attended. It is very hard to find people who are not large themselves to comprehend what large people go through on a daily basis. He spoke the unspoken struggles that obese people face, and presented a honest presentation on what his facility will do for you and what they expect in turn. He stresses after care! This is a lifetime commitment! Dr. Mitchell & his staff takes EVERY precaution when scheduling your surgery. Such dillegence in precaution lead to my diagnosis of sleep apena. I would recommend this doctor and facility to EVERYONE! Let's face it folks, for the obese losing weight is a battle. Are you going to chose bugs bunny in your corner or a seasoned fighter? This is a far fetched comparison, but think about it. You want someone to fight with you! And I feel Dr. Mitchell & his staff will.

Dr. Mitchell and his staff are awesome. He is very personable and understanding. I would encourage anyone who is considering him as their surgeon to meet him. One meeting is all that it will take and you will know what I am talking about.
