Dr. David Ward is with Allied Surgical Group in Morristown, NJ and is partnered with Dr. McClean. Dr. Ward has outstanding credentials and heads the program at Morristown Hospital prior to starting the program at Somerset Hospital. He performs the surgery at both hospitals now. He also did his residency at Robert Wood Johnson. Dr. Ward is good at what he does and I had complete trust in him. He spends as much time as necessary answering questions and has a sense of humor when teased. I mentioned to him privately at a support group meeting that he is changing the lives of people and does he realize how important his work is to obese people. He smiled with great pride and embarrassment and said just looking at the smile on your face brings me the greatest pleasure.
Marilyn in his office who handles the insurance is exceptional. She is extremely helpful, diligent, and knows what the insurance companies need. If you provide her with what she asks for, she moves this insurance submittal through in an extremely timely manner.

I first saw Dr. David Ward a few days before my appointment at the seminar in the hospital. He answered a lot of people's questions very informatively. When I met him, I knew he was the doctor for me! He was very nice and had a calming voice, which made me feel comfortable bcause i was nervous. Very thorough and answered every single question me and my mom asked. He even answered the question my overprotective brother made me ask him... his crudentials lol! He reassured me and made me feel like i was a person, not just a patient. I'd recommend him to anyone whos looking for a reliable and reassuring doctor.

David Ward is a very sincere and caring doctor. At first I thought he was very serious, but then after getting to know him and him feeling comfortable with me, his sense of humor really shined through. He has the capability of laughing yet taking his work very seriously. He is very accomodating to people's individual needs. His honesty and candidness speaks for itself. He does not sugar coat the seriousness of the surgery and tells you exactly what to expect following the surgery. I was amazed when he stopped and hugged me after my 3month post op appointment. I really felt like a human being, not just a patient. Thank you David Ward for helping me to get my life back!! I would (and do) recommend you to everyone and anyone. I'll see you for my abdominoplasty.

As a nurse who lives in the Metropolitan Philadelphia area, I thoroughly researched who I wanted to do my surgery. My area had a limited amount of physicians who were doing lap RNY surgery, and I did not want to go into surgery thinking that someone would make a half-hearted attempted to complete a laparoscopic procedure. Dr.Ward has only had one lap to open conversion, and told the patient ahead of time that there was a very strong possibility going into the surgery that it would end up open.
I could not have asked for a smoother process in being approved the first time. I made my appointment mid-January for March 5. Surgery was scheduled for April 9. When I looked around in my home area, I was quoted appointments for consultation only in the 6 to 9 month range.
Dr. Ward is a warm, wonderful person. No question whether trivial or complicated is a bother to him. (I had technical questions as a nurse). He has a structured aftercare program and encourages questions from family members.

My first impression was he's short - well, he is! Of course my impression hasn't changed, because he hasn't grown! Honestly, the first time I met him I was nervous, and he made me feel quite comfortable. My impression of him only got better and better. He's very sweet, caring, knows what he's doing, and has a wonderful smile. His staff has been terrific, especially Kathy. There's really nothing I don't like about him. Nothing you should know - just be open and honest. He does have a structured aftercare program which is pretty easy to follow. He had a booklet made which is full of all information you need - even has some recipes. He was very informative about everything - every step. He didn't seem to mind my "stupid" questions, even if I asked them over and over. I would rate him EXCELLENT - A 10! His bedside manner and surgical competence are both GREAT!

If I were to rate Dr. Ward, I would give him a 15 out of 10... that's 5 points above and beyond. I'm convinced that Dr. Ward's professional, caring, and loving approach to his patients is the foundation of my speedy recovery and success. By putting my life in his hands means that I trusted him fully. Dr. Ward's personal touch was very much appreciated. He changed my drain instead of asking the nurse; he made sure I was comfortable and had a fan brought into my room when I was sweating, going through sugar withdrawl; most important, he listened to me when I spoke and answered all of my questions (even the ones that I asked a second and third time). Dr. Ward's presence is truly reflected in his office staff--as they display the same wonderful professional, caring, and loving qualities. I would highly recommend Dr. Ward and his staff; I'm proud to be a patient of theirs.
Sincerely,
Wanda

My first impression of Dr Ward was tha he was a soft spoken man of small body frame, short and slender. To me, he radiated confidence and sincerity. I had known 3 others personally that had used him and Morristown Memorial for their Lap RNYs'. I went to him on their recommedations.
After going home from the hospital, I did spike a fever. I called his office that next morning. I was VERY impressed as to the great care they gave me. Nancy and Dr Ward were wonderful.
I have recommended Dr Ward to a co-worked of mind as well as several friends.... and all of them have been as pleased with Dr Ward as I have. He not only is a great surgeon with a compassionate bedside manor, but he is also caring and a warm steady rock of a man when I was sick with the post op infection.

I like that Dr. Ward does not patronize his patients. He does not think he is better than you because he is Dr. or because he isn't fat! The office staff is very busy, but kind, and accomodating. You should know that he is serious about helping people, and you need to be willing to make the changes that are necessary. He emphasizes going to the meetings, and you must make follow up visits. The best thing about Dr. Ward is that he gave me his beeper number. I had surgery near the holidays, and he would not be in the office, but assured me he would return my call if I needed him-WOW!
