George Woodman Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

Dr. George Woodman is my surgeon. He has operated on many people that I know and work with. He is really the best surgeon in Memphis and Jackson, where I live - everybody knows that. He has an office in Jackson now and it is really convenient to follow up. I had a sleeve gastrectomy 2 years ago and I feel like a new person. Dr. Woodman is amazing. He is very straightforward and that's EXACTLY what you need. He will tell you what to do and if you listen you will be successful. We all are very happy with Dr. Woodman and recommend him highly.

Worst bedside manner of any MD I have ever met!! I am a nurse and have dealt with a lot of doctors. He looks down on obese people. He has lost a lot of his patients due to his attitude.

Couldn't be happier. Dr. Woodman and his staff are the most experienced in the Midsouth at what they do and everyone knows it. I had a Lap Band about 4 months ago and already I feel like a new man. Dr. Woodman is always available if you want to call or go to the office and his staff is very knowledgable as many of them have apparently also had bariatric surgery. They have saved my life. Dr.Woodman is a very straight forward no nonsense doctor and that's what I like about him. If your one of those people that wants your doctor to hold your hand an beat around the bush he is not the doctor for you to see. He tells you want you need to hear and not what you wanna hear. Which is important when having weight loss surgery especially for it to be successful. I think he and his staff are some great people and they know the things to help you have a successful future with weight loss.

I would like to thank Dr. George Woodman and his staff. I am almost a year out from surgery and couldn't be happier. My first impression was that he was VERY EXPERIENCED and obviously knew a lot and I knew that he had operated on many of my friends. He absolutely wants the patients to know as much as they can before making a decision for surgery and he met with me several times and let me make my own decision. I haven't had any problems since surgery and he is always there if I need him. Thank you again Dr. Woodman - you are the best!

All I can say is look at me! I have lost over 200 pounds since my sleeve. Dr. Woodman obviously knows what he is doing and did a great job on me. Thank you to Dr. Woodman and his staff. The only trouble I had was with my insurance company which required a 6 month diet but after I completed that they approved me and then I had surgery a couple of weeks later. Can't wait until my next appointment.

I choose Dr Woodman because of his experience and reputation. Many of my friends and coworkers have also had surgery with him and have had great success. He takes great care of me and I appreciate it. Also I have lost almost half of my excess weight already with the Lap Band and hopefully will keep losing. Dr Woodman has been great and I haven't had any problems since surgery. As a matter of fact, my diabetes is now gone! I recommend Dr Woodman and his office to everyone!

Very happy with Dr Woodman and his office. I was initially in an FDA trial with their office and was in a control group. They were amazing during the study and really helped me to change my lifestyle. After that I had a Lap Band and am now 6 months out and doing great. I have lost half of my excess weight and feel really good. Dr Woodman always encourages me and I know that I will be successful if I do what he tells me. He and his office have been great. I recommend them to everyone.
