I have not ment Dr.Rogers yet my origional Dr was fired so I was reassigned to him. I have been told he is great by several people and he has 30 yrs at doing this so It appears I will be in good hands! I am not gonna candy coat things I had to really go thru the loop to get a surgery date even though I passed all my clearence tests and got insurance approval right away I did not get a date for surgery due to My Dr. being let go ...I asked my area btc leader for help and she gave me a number to call up until that point I got no answers and got the run around and at times was treated I feel not well...so It may be a struggel and at times dissapointing but I tried to visualize the end result! So that is my story everyone is different so will yours hang in there! If it were easy everyone would do it!!!!!

Dr. Rogers is a very nice man. At first I was'nt sure how to take him, but after meeting him the second time, I realized how nice he really was. Before my surgery I could call him and ask him anything and during the hospital stay he ckecked up on me like clockwork and would answer all my questions and tried to keep me relaxed and cozy and now at my check ups he always listens and answers my 20 questions. He's also a funny guy!!!!

I was called to a second consult because the surgeon I has initially, Dr. Troussaint, is no longer with BTC in Ypsilanti. My new surgeom is Dr. Jerry Rogers. He was very friendly, even witty. He explained the surgery very well, even taking extra time to explain things to my husband more thoroughly. The consultation only lasted 20 minutes.

Dr Rodgers seemed very nice. He was soft spoken but very clear when it comes to his anti-smoking opinion. When I told him I was quiting on that day,he didn't even acknowledge it, just put the fear of God into me, that if I had any niccotene in my system the day of surgery, he would cancel it.
His nurse that took my vitals and filled out my medical history seemed very rude. She barely spoke at all and when she did it was with a "snotty" tone. I wanted to remind her that Weight does not determine who you are.
Dr Rodgers explained all the risks of surgery, except death. I know that any surgery requiring general anesthetic has the risk of causing death and I feel he should have mentioned it. Not everyone has this understanding.
Overall, I woud rate him, personally as a 9. His staff would rate a 4. I dont have a surgery date scheduled yet but I am sure that this was an isolated incidient and that the rest of the clinical staff is nicer than what I have encountered so far.
On the day of preop I did not see Dr Rogers, but one of his associates. She was resonably nice. Not overall friendly but treated me decently. She was able to answer my questions and gave me some reassurance that all would go well. The clinical staff as greatly improved! Woohoo for them!!
It just keeps getting better, Dr Rogers is a wonderful man. Not only is he a talented surgeon but, treated my boyfriend and I very nicely the day of my surgery. He visited me all 3 days I was in the hospital and was very friendly.

Dr. Rogers is very straight forward and to the point. He is very professional. Dr. Rogers explains very clearly, even using diagrams on the chalk board, what the surgery entails. He explained the risks of surgery, and the steps they take to reduce the risks. Dr. Rogers is very clear on the structured aftercare, and clearly defines success or failure as strictly our decision. If we commit to the aftercare program, we will be successful. If we sabotage the aftercare program, we will fail. Very clear and concise. I rate Dr. Rogers as a very competent surgeon, with emphasis on patient compliance.
