Dr. Champion is a true professional. He is friendly, but not fake. He is precise and to the point. He is extremely informative, and listens to everything you have to say and ask. You may be nervous walking into his office, but when you leave, you are confident that you have chosen the best. From first consult to post-op check up, him and his whole staff have been absolutely top-notch. I truly have nothing negative to say..

Dr. Champion and his staff were both professional and personable. I never once had any reason to question their abilities or services. Dr. Champion is matter of fact and shoots straight with a complete command of the situation as a surgeon and his bed side manner is complementally. I would highly recommend both my surgeon and his office.

. FIRST IMPRESSION INTELLIGENT MAN
. IMPRESSION STILL THE SAME
.PROFESSIONAL STAFF, FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL
I LIKED HIM VERY WELL
HE'S THE BEST SURGEON IN MY OPINION
HE AND HIS STAFF REALLY EMPHASIS AFTERCARE
YES THEY HAVE A STRUCTURED AFTERCARE PROGRAM
THEY WERE UP FRONT ABOUT ALL RISK OF THE SURGERY
IF 10 WAS THE HIGHEST RANK I'D GIVE THEM A 10.
BOTH ARE GREAT

first impression: very nice, knowledgable; office staff: busy but nice, well run office; liked least: nothing-answers every question and is very thorough; aftercare: take care and responsibility for yourself; surgical competence is most important, but a good bedside manner also helps. will write more, as process moves along

When I first started researching doctors in my state, I was leaning towards the doctors two of my friends had used, but after reading the hospital reviews for those doctors I changed my mind. I read every review I could find for Dr. Champion and Emory Dunwoody Hospital (the one he does surgery out of) and was very impressed. My husband and I met Dr. Champion at my consult office visit. I was impressed with everything - no long wait to see him, shown a video by Dr. Champion in which he explained very thoroughly the three procedures he does, the office staff was wonderful, and Dr. Champion was just as I expected - professional, informative, patient. I walked in with a written list of questions, and he answered every one of them, as well as giving me even more info I hadn't thought to ask. No one in the office made me feel as if I were repugnant because of my size. My husband and I both came away feeling confident that I had chosen the right doctor.

Dr. Champion is a very kind, hard working surgeon who is highly thought of in the Bariatric field. I am currently working for a Bariatric surgeon in my own state and my surgeon shares this opinion also. His office staff is very easy to talk to and helpful with insurance problems.
I had my surgery two years ago and am now communicating with the office via telephone annually to remain compliant with labs, etc.
My aftercare was self-motivated since I live in another state but I called Dr. Champion's office if I had any problems and I flew to Atlanta for my 3 month check. My recovery and post-op has been flawless!!!!!!

Um, let's see. I didn't meet Dr. Cahmpion until the day before my surgery. Because my insurance wouldn't pay, I didn' thave to go through a ton of procedures of have any testing done before hand. When I went for my pre-op, I could tell that the nurses and staff at his clinic were very knowledgable about the procedure I was having done and were just great with any and all questions I had. In comes Dr. Champion. Dr. Champion is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He's a straight shooter and knows his "stuff." I liked him right off the bat but, I felt a little bereft because he doesn't hae much of a "bedside manner." In the hospital he talked with my mom since she was the one who drove me down. Mom liked him alot. That says alot right there when a mother or father gives the "thumbs up.":) Dr. Champion is very professional and up front about what the surgery entails and the benefits as well as the risks involved. There is a very structured aftercare program that he has you do. You do have to attend at least 4 support meetings, I believe and you have to follow his 6-week after care to the "T." He won't put up with "cheating" and not doing the best you can. Out of 10, I would give him a 10 on his knowledge and a 7-8 on bedside manner. He means business!! He was the best I found on performing this surgery and I would go to him again if I was just considering the surgery. This is just a personal review of Dr. Champion by me. Thanks so much for your time.

Dr. Champion was very straight forward. He took time to answer any questions I had and explained the procedure very well. My impression of Dr. Champion did not change. He was all business because this is a serious operation. Dr. Champion's office personal is very helpful and friendly. Dr Champion's aftercare is super. He wants you to keep in contact with his office anytime you have a question and to come for checkups. His aftercare program is structured down to the smallest detail. He address the seriousness of the situation. I would rate his superior in both his surgical competence and his bedside manner.
