He was very up front and honest with you about any question you have even if you thought it was a dumb. His office staff is wonderful two members of his staff have had wls preformed by him.He is very big on aftercare he told me that once you have the surgery you can come to him or his staff with any problems or concerns you may have.He is not a chit chat kind of guy but he is very caring and honest. He was very honest about the risk involved with the surgery, he doesnt sugar coat it for you. I would rate him a 10/10.

Dr. Maguire had done gallbladder surgery on my dad and exploratory surgery on my bro-in-law. I knew he was an excellent surgeon. He's kinda shy it seems and it takes a few visits before he starts opening up a little, but he's great. He stresses aftercare a lot. Once you have the surgery you are a lifetime patient of his. Him and his associate Dr. Hadley have an information session for anyone interested in the surgery. They explain in detail the benefits/risks, what to expect after surgery, not just physically but emotionally. I would rate him a 10 out of 10. Some people may not like how quiet he is, but I didn't mind b/c I knew he was a very attentive doctor. The only thing I wish is that there would have been a dietetics consult and stuff. But they have support meetings every month and I like that.

I liked Dr. Maguire immediately. He is very nice, but not much for small talk. But that is Ok, I'm not either. He answers all questions. His office staff is also very good. When ever I have called with a question during the first weeks of post op they were answered promptly and when I had a problem that needed to be seen they told me to come right in and saw me within the hour. The support group is really emphasized for after care as are regular check up appointments. I would highly reccomend Dr. Maguire. He even did stitches intead of staples because I requested it. I can't think of anything negative to say. I had a positive experience with him.

I have a seminar planned for August 9th. That was the earliest I could get in. I also, was advised, that I might be able to have the surgery done by the years end. If not around Jan. or Feb. of '03.

I have nothing, but great things to say about Dr. Maguire and his staff. Dr. Maguire is a very polite, quite, professional, caring person. Several of his past patients work for him in his office. All of coarse are doing well. Everyone in the office is great, especially his assistant Kim. I highly recommend Kettering Hospital and Dr. Maguire and his staff.

My impression of Dr M was that he "knew his stuff" and would be my dr of choice for this surgery. I could have stayed local and saw a dr who just recently started doing these surgeries. Uh, NO.
His staff was very helpful as I tried first a BPD approval. Then we switched to the RNY when insurance denied the BPD as too experimental. SO, it took about 5 days to get the RNY approval, and I have a date!
Dr M has a very structured aftercare program.. and I will have to stay in Dayton for a total of two weeks. Extended Stay hotel here we come.
My only negative comments would be they lost my file when I had a name change (got married) but other than that.. so far so good!!

HAVEN'T MET HIM YET GO MAY 2 FOR MEETING. WELL MET HIM TODAY THINK HE IS GREAT AND REALLY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. GLAD I HAVE HIM AND DR. HADLEY WAS TRAINED BY HIM SO I WOULD BE OK WITH HER TOO. THEY BOTH STRESSED AFTER CARE. AND THE OFFICE STAFF SEEMED NICE TO.THIS WAS JUST THE INFORMATION SESSION SO ALL I GOT TO HEAR WAS THEM TALKING ABOUT WHAT THEY DO. WILL UPDATE WHEN I SEE THEM AGAIN

I really love Dr. Maguire. He is up-front, honest, and sincere. I was impressed with him from the beginning because he doesn't sugar-coat anything. If you ask him a question, he will just tell you the straight answer. I feel very comfortable with his knowledge, skills, experience, and attitude. I believe he is the most capable of all the WLS surgeons in all of the Dayton, Ohio area. His staff is very helpful as well. When a surgeon can spend time attending a monthly support group meeting, that says to me that this guy really does care about his patients. He has even done surgeries on his day off work or on a Holiday to help his patient. That speaks volumes to me.
If you want a warm and fuzzy type of guy, he's not it. He is friendly, but busy. To me, having excellent skills and concern for patients is far more important than someone who knows how to flatter. I can get flattery anywhere.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF MY DOC. WAS THAT HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. I THINK THAT HE IS AN EXCELLENT SURGEON. HIS BED SIDE MANNERS ARE MORE THAN I CAN SAY. VERY PROFESSIONAL NICE AND CARING. DR. MAGUIRE'S STAFF IS WONDERFUL. KIM HIS ASSISTANT IS VERY HELPFUL. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DID NOT LIKE ABOUT THE DOC. THE FUTURE PATIENTS SHOULD KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A WONDERFUL DOC.
DOC. EMPHASIZE AFTER CARE A LOT. YES DOC. DOES HAVE AN AFTERCARE PROGRAM. DOC. ADDRESS THE RISKS OF SURGERY LIKE ANY OTHER SURGEON WOULD. I RATE HIS PROFORMANCE 10+. EVERYTHING IS GREAT ABOUT HIM.
