Julie Leverton Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I had my consultation with Dr. Leverton on Jan. 24,2001. She was very kind and so informative. She treated me like I was the only patient she had to see that day. She did not make me feel rushed at all. My husband and I had many questions for her and she never once acted like she was in a hurry. She was so calm and really respected the concerns we had. Answered all our questions and made sure we had complete understanding about the procedure. She is very caring and compassionate you could tell that right off the bat. I had my surgery June 13th, 2001. Dr Leverton and the entire hospital staff were great. They were all so caring and made sure you were not in any pain and was comfortable at all times. My husband was with me the whole time I was there and he was very impressed with the care I was getting. It was almost like not being in a hospital at all. I am doing GREAT and really feel blessed to have had such an excellent Dr. I would highly recommend Dr. Leverton and BTC to anyone. God bless the staff at BTC.

I have changed from Dr. Capps to Dr. Leverton because I know people who have had her and love her. I will be meeting with her next week so we can meet and get to know each other.

DR.Leverton..was so sweet. i enjoyed her visti. She mad me feel comfortable and made me feel good about myself. she was just the sweetest thing and any question i had for her she answered. really well.I work in the medical field. and know how hard it is to get a answer you can understand. she was very sweet and and the staff is also very very nice. i hope that i will get to have the surgery very soon.

I MET WITH DR. LEVERTON ON 7/24/01. SHE SHOWED A GREAT DEAL OF INTEREST IN HELPING ME AND CAREFULLY EXPLAINED THE PROCESS ALONG WITH FUTURE BENEFITS AND POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS. I DID NOT FEEL RUSHED BY HER TO GET IN AND OUT. THE OFFICE STAFF IS GOOD. I KNOW I AM IN EXTREMELY COMPETENT HANDS WITH HER. SHE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND SHOWED GREAT CONCERN FOR MY FUTURE. SHE EMPHASIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF LIFESTYLE CHANGE AND POST OP CARE. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE SURGERY AND HOPE MY INSURANCE COMPANY COMES THRU FOR ME.

I met with Dr. Leverton today (5/31/01). She explains everything in detail. She answered my questions and put me at ease. I am so excited. The staff was excellant. She presents the surgery procedure, possilbe compliations and expectations. I feel lucky to have her as a surgeon and caretaker. I am a little scared....but hope I get to have the surgery. Now the paper work to my insurance. Will let you know how it goes.

I met with Dr Leverton today and was very impressed with her friendliness and caring manner. My husband went with me and he was a little apprehensive about my considering this but agreed it was my decision but after meeting with her he felt much better about the surgery.
She was very good at covering all my questions and didnt seem to be trying to sell you anything. Her attitude made me feel she cared about what was best for me. I would recommend her to anyone interested in this surgery and the consultation fee was well worth the money. My paper work goes to the Insurance company tomarrow so I will be anxiously awaiting their decision. Dr Leverton wants me to have a checkup with a pulmonary specialist and a Stress test before surgery. I sure dont mind any Dr that wants to be careful before doing surgery on you. I would rate her a 10 for her bedside manner. She was very informative about the aftercare program and told me of any risks and what I would need to do to succeed at this program. SHe emhasized the aftercare
program and the dietary restrictions. I hope this goes well and will be waiting for a surgery date.

First impression was that she was very sweet, caring and competant doctor. The office staff was very friendly, eager to help and always there when you needed them. I didn't find anything I disliked about her...I think she is an amazing doctor. Anyone that chooses Dr. Leverton has made the right decision because of her knowlwdge and skill of the surgery. Dr. Leverton emphasizes aftercare. If I had to rate her between 1 to 10 she would be a 10. Surgical competence and bedside manner are both great.

I have only met with Dr Leverton once but I felt very comfortable after that one visit.She seemed to have the proper combination of bed side manner and technical competence, from what I can tell in 1 visit.The office is designed for morbidly obese patients-the chairs in the waiting room are big, the scales accomodate large people. All the surgery patients are bariatric surgery patients.Post-op, I won't be mixed in with all sorts of surgical patients. I assume this means that the people who work there are comfortable with, and sensitive to morbidly obese patients.The after care was discussed briefy in my visit with her, but will be discussed in detail at my appointment 1 week pre-op.She discussed the risks carefully. She used a big flip chart to visually explain everything.

My first impression of Dr. Leverton was that she was very kind and knowledgeable. She was very soft spoken and eager to help me with the surgery.

I have spoken to her once since the initial consultation regarding my problems with the CPAP machine. I had trouble during the first sleep study to be fitted for it. She was very helpful and supportive in that as well.

She made clear that the Bariatric Treatment Center has an aftercare program. She thoroughly went over the risks involved in the surgery. I would say I came away very well-informed from the visit.

I had my consultation with Dr. Leverton in June. It was a long drive from where we live, but well worth it. Their office A/C was broken that day but we sweated it out! Shawntae, her assistant, was a riot! She made my husband and I feel right at home. Dr. Leverton was awesome. She was surprised that I knew the word 'co-morbidities'. LOL! She is so cute! She was surprised that we are coming so far to have the surgery done in Wylie, but I know I have chosen the best surgeon for the job! I can't wait for my turn to finally be on 'the other side' and be losing this weight forever! There are 3 reasons why I feel that Dr. Leverton and the BTC are the best and they are: 1) She is a woman and can identify with women in general. 2) She is very meticulous in her surgery scars and they are barely visible. 3) Having it done at the BTC is better than a hospital because you don't have to deal with sick patients who have diseases and infections, and the whole atmosphere is healthier! 4) Having it done at the BTC is better because EVERYTHING is catered to the obese patient! EVERYONE should have their surgery here! LOL!
