Kerry Ozment Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Ozment was the greatest surgeon. I first met him at his bi-monthly seminar that he holds for potential patients. He and his staff were wonderful. How many surgeons spend 3 plus hours with potential patients and don't even charge them a penny? Judy, Madolyn, and Angela were wonderful. They helped answer any questions that I may have had, along with Dr. Ozment. Dr. Ozment is so knowledgeable of the procedure. He has performed over 8000 surgeries. He knows what works and what does not.

I would recommend anyone to Dr. Ozment in a heartbeat. I self paid, and I know that I got my money's worth.

I researched Dr. Ozment prior to our first meeting and spoke to several people who had gone to him. I was granted a consult prior to admission instead of having to attend a seminar prior to scheduling surgery because it is a 6-7 hour drive to Little Rock. After meeting with Dr. Ozment and talking with him I was convinced I had chosen the right surgeon. He is a kind caring man and explained what he planned for me based upon my extreme mobility limitations. My impression did not change throughout my stay at St. Vincent's.

Dr. Ozment's staff is as caring as he is and everyone made me feel special. He thanked me for choosing him and told me that patients like me who are highly motivated and have severe arthritis as a result of my obesity make him feel that his years of experience are put to good use.

Everything about the surgery, including risks and aftercare was provided to me before I went to Little Rock and were re- emphazised in my pre-op meeting with him.

He does have a structured after care program and his staff followed up my surgery with a phone call five days after I was home. I also had a phone number to reach him in case of emergency.

I highly recommend Dr. Ozment based on his years of experience, his surgical competence, his bedside manner, and his general concern for the morbidly obese.

I absolutely loved Dr. Ozment. From the first time my family and I met him, he put me totally at ease. He was very kind, concerned, and caring. He took a GENUINE interest in me and my case. The day of my pre-op visit, he even prayed with us! During the seminar that we went to, Dr. Ozment and his staff explained the surgery backwards and forwards and answered any/all questions. I have NEVER known a doctor who would spend 3-4 hours with his patients-to-be for NO MONEY. He is a one-of-a-kind doctor.

His office staff, Madolyn and Judy, are great! They will do anything they can to help others!

My advice, if you are looking for a surgeon, is to get one that you feel totally comfortable with. Before I found Dr. Ozment, I went to Dr. Terry Pinson in Tupelo, MS. I did not like him and his office staff at all. I was not comfortable with him and prayed that God would send me another surgeon. He did and for that I am eternally grateful!

Dr. Ozment was fantastic. His staff is great and all of them are very helpful. I'm glad I was able to have the best surgeon!

Dr. Ozment is cream of the crop, top of the heap...AWESOME!!! I did not even meet him until May 3, 2004, My surgery was the next day! Crazy huh! Well, I had really done my homework so I was very confident in him and I was right. My first impression was that he looked very friendly. That is important to me. I believe you can see kindness in someone's face. Again, I was right. He is Incredible!!! On a scale from 1 to 10 he is a 10+. I had brought my list of questions with me when I came but, Dr. Ozment was so thorough that I did not need them. He answered them all without me even hardly asking anything. My husband was very impressed! Well, my goodness the man has done over 8000 bariatric surgerys. His office staff, Judy, Madeline and Angela made me feel like we were old friends. I felt like I had known them forever. I liked them very much! I really hate to push him because he is trying to keep a low profile. I don't think he wants to get real busy again. He said he loves being able to spend lots of time with each individual patient. I wish more doctors felt this way. That is so AMAZING to me. You asked me which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both? Both are very important and Dr. Ozment gets an A+ for both. I am 100% satisfied with my decisions in using this man as my surgeon. Thank you so much Dr. Ozment for being the man, surgeon, person that I met. I have not met him yet. First meeting is May 17th. My daughter had surgery with him last year and has had nothing but great things to say about him and his staff.. That was all I needed to pick Dr. Ozment for my surgery..

Dr. Ozment was great! He did the surgery when Dr. Luttrell backed out only 2 weeks from my scheduled date. I never got a reason why Dr. Luttrell backed out, but the office called only 2 weeks prior to my surgery to reschedule it. This presented a huge problem due to the fact I had set up the surgery date 3 months previously and had set up everything around that date. Dr. Luttrell was in my PPO, but Dr. Ozment was not. I had to pay the difference in what my insurance paid Dr. Ozment and what his fees were. This as about $2,100. It has been fine, but I was upset that this was a doctor in his practice who gave the patient no reason why they would have to reschedule. In my opinion, Dr. Ozment should have taken the insurance payment and made Dr. Luttrel kick in the rest because of his unproffesionalism in the way he handled my situation. I am very happy with my surgery and with Dr. Ozment. He is a wonderful doctor and his staff is great. I just wish I would not have had to pay the extra money that I was not counting on having to pay.

When I first started the whole process of WLS, I selected Dr. Bosquez (Tulsa, OK) for my surgery. He is a wonderful man and an excellent surgeon. However, my insurance excludes coverage for WLS and I am having to pay for the surgery myself.

I heard about Dr. Kerry Ozment through some internet friends. I have not met him yet but have done a great deal of research about him. He has done over 7,000 surgeries and is now the Medical Director at St. Vincent's Obesity Surgery Center. I have scheduled my orientation seminar with him on Feb 17, 2004. My preliminary surgery date has been scheduled for May 25, 2004. I look forward to meeting Dr. Ozment and will report more about him at that time.

2-17-04 I met with Dr. Ozment today and I think he is wonderful. He addressed all of the risks and benefits of the surgery and stressed the importance of follow-up and aftercare. He was very knowledgable and professional, yet personable. His staff (Judy and Madolyn) were very friendly and helpful. I am extremely happy with my decision to go with Dr. Ozment and rate him "EXCELLENT".

From the first time I met Dr. Ozment, I really liked him. He is a very nice, caring individual. Judy his receptionist is very nice also. She had the surgery years ago. Very easy to talk to. Madelin his nurse is another story. I really dont like her to much. He explains the procedure and answers the questions very appropriately. I was very well satisfied with him.

My first impression of him is that is he talented, knowlegable and skillful. That impression has remained. He is one of the best bariatric surgeons in the country having done almost 8000 cases. The staff of the St. Vincent Bariatric Clinic are great. They are caring, compassionate, understanding, helpful and knowlegable. Pre-op care and post-op care are fantastic. There is also a monthly support group to which all patients are lifetime members. The risks of surgery were covered frankly and forthrightly along with what measures would be taken to minimize the risks. I would rate Dr. Ozment A+++, or "Five Stars." He is simply the tops in his field. Highly, highly recommended. Honestly, I can think of nothing negative about my experience with Dr. Ozment or the staff of the clinic.
