Dr. Oh has a bit of a sence of humor, although he did not show that in the consult. He was pretty straight forward and did not give me a chance to ask any questions. But at the seminar I had plenty of opertunity to ask questions and listen to everyone elses questions. All of his office staff was very friendly, patient and willing to answer questions if they could, and find out if they did not know the answer.

Dr. Oh is a wonderful doctor. He is very straight forward and strictly business. He knows what he is doing. His office staff is wonderful. They are so kind. Dr. Oh is very knowledgeable. He expects his patients to do what he says, to follow his expectations to a T. I would rate him with a 9. His surgical competence is top rated. His bedside manner is definitely made up for by his wonderful staff and great surgical competence.

2 Year UPDATE: Spent 1.5 years as a patient of Dr. Oh's- complained about issues I was having sporatically, which Dr. Oh blamed on me (not chewing well enough, taking too big of bites, food stuck in band, etc) Was slowly starving (and becoming accustomed to eating almost nothing) but began waking up in the middle of the night choking on food eaten 12-14 hrs earlier; found new doctor in FL that discovered I was 75% full, rather than the 50% that was reflected in my med records from Dr. Oh, causing discomfort, irritation, and gastritis to return after almost 2 yrs post op.... THANK GOD I relocated and found a new doctor- Dr Oh is more concerned with churning people through his fat farm than treating patients individually- Aftercare is less than satisfactory and would have cost me a lot more to investigate as a self pay patient, had I stayed his patient. (as it is now, I've spent about $600 outside of insurance coverage to get treated)rnI am willing to provide more information regarding why I feel this doctor is not the best choice- contact me if you'd like it....rnORIGINAL Comments 2006rnDr. Oh is a no-nonsense, strict surgeon- this is one of the reasons I selected him. He has a strict aftercare program and does follow up blood work quarterly for the year following surgery. rnIf you are looking for coddling, emotional support, or a doctor to stroke you along the way, this is not the doctor for you. I viewed him as a means to an end; he will provide you with information when you ask for it pointedly, but doesn't volunteer a lot. If you are still in the \"info seeking\" phase, I would strongly advise that you go to multiple orientations- from several different doctors, because had I only gone to Dr. Oh's, I believe I would have missed out on some info. rnI would still choose him as my surgeon, but he is somewhat impersonal.

I couldnt have picked a better surgeon. Very funny and matter of fact. I felt very comfortable with him and he didnt try to spare my feelings. He was there to reassure me before surgery which calmed me greatly. I did everything he asked of me before surgery and he did an awesome job during. All his staff are great and curteous and are always there to help...even if it does take a while for them to return calls. They are extremely busy there!! His before and after care are something he takes great pride in and tells you if you want to be succedful you must do what he tells you. It is very important for you to do your work...its not a miracle just a great tool he is provideing you with!! I would highly recommend Dr.Oh to anyone considering weight loss surgery!
