My first impression of Leslie McClellan was "Wow" she really understands what I am going through.

My impression has not changed.

The office staff are AWESOME!! They answer all my "stupid" questions whether I have an appointment or not.

I haven't found anything I don't like.

I think people should know that Leslie treats you as a human being and not a number. She will take all the time is needed to answer all your questions with out looking at the door or her watch.

Yes she has stressed the aftercare. They have monthly support meetings and they are there anytime you call.

Yes we addressed the risk of surgery, but I have more risk in not having the surgery.

I would rate her EXTREMELY HIGH

I believe both are necessary.

I was going to have Dr. Printen from Evanston do my surgery but decided on Dr. Leslie McClellan. I really liked her alot from my first visit, she was very informative and I liked the way she answered my questions and I really liked the fact that my appointment time was my time she was not rushing me so that she could go and tend to something or someone else, she is really great. Someone from her office will call me in October with an exact surgery date I am so excited but I know as the day draws closer it will change to nervous. I am happy to know that although Dr. McClellan does not do Lap her technique only leaves like a two inch scar, I am really glad about that because belly dancing is not belly dancing unless you show some belly ( just kidding) but I am glad that the scar will be small. I will keep posting as I hear more about my date.
I would rate Dr. McClellan at a 10, 10 being the highest. Her staff I found some of them to be nicer in person verses over the phone. She stresses after care as important as the surgery itself. She was straight forward with the risks and answered all my questions, I like the fact that she has been doing this for like 11 years or more I can't remember the exact number but it is a long time. I also like the fact that she specializes in abdominal bariatric surgery and she is board certified. Her bedside manner is great and I think bedside manner and surgical competence is important. I also like her success rate and mortality rate. I am putting my life in her hands and I have confidence in her abilities and capabilities.

My first impression was just wonderful--I had seen a video of her on a TV talk show, and I had seen her web site, so she looked familiar already, but her demeaner, her attitude and friendliness was just wonderful and relaxing. I made a big impression on her and the staff too by putting together a packet of info and pictorial history about myself and it blew them all away! They wanted to know if I would mind if they used it as an example to show others....
I am feeling that I am very very lucky to live in Libertyville, Illinois and near Dr. Leslie McClellan and Condell Hospital. She has a whole program for aftercare and bi-monthly support meetings.
Will report more after surgery.

Dr. McClellan is so warm and caring. Her credentials are excellent and everyone that I have spoken to who has had her as their surgeon raves about her. I got the feeling that she is very meticulous and that made me feel really confident in her. Dr. McClellan did her residency and a fellowship in Bariatric surgery, so that had a lot to do wiht my decision. She works with the newest technology.

Her office staff is nicer in person than they are on the phone. They are always helpful, but the practice has grown so much, that I think both of the women who work for the Dr. are overwhelmed.

Dr. McClellan feels very strongly about the need for support so she has formed a support group specifically for her patients. I found this to be very helpful when choosing a surgeon because it was nice to have all of these people in one place to speak with about their experiences.

I think a surgeon needs to have surgical competence and a good bedside manner, especially for this type of procedure. Sensitivity is very important to me and most especially her competence as a surgeon.

I thought my surgeon was very inteligent from the get go she spent as much time as I needed to get to feel comfortable witht he surgery and answered all my questions. She was very honest and informaitive about all of my concerns and my impression only got better with time she is absolutly wonderful. Her office staff is the BEST!!!! I love her nurse that works very closely with her and she was able to answer many questions also. My Dr. made sure that I knew exactly what to eat to make my surgery sucessful and I understood alot of my sucess depends upon myself and listened very carefully to her and never ever have yet gone off what she has told me to do. I had all the questions of the risks and we covered all of those in my pre surgery visits. I would rate my Dr. on a scale of 1 being worst and 10 being Excellent I rate her a 100 she is the BEST!!!!!I have really had the best experience beleive it or not I was out of the hospital in 2 1/2 days incuding surgery and I was at the store shopping in 4 days and I was off all pain killers in 6 days. I couln't be more happier.

Dr. McClellan is very warm and caring. My consultation with her lasted about an hour, and not once did she ever make me feel rushed or like she had other things to do. She asked very pertinent questions, and answered all my questions. She was very honest in her approach to everything also! At the end of our meeting I got to meet her nurse and office manager, Corrine. She handles the insurance and paperwork end of everything, as well as the support groups, appt's, etc. Corrine is who I kept in contact with re: any insurance issues, and she was very kind and supportive. Both Corrine and the doctor explained the importance of follow up care, nutrition, and the support group. I have nothing negative to say with my experience thus far!
