Dr. Gorospe was really just what I had expected. I had been on the website reviewing everyone's comments, so I was not surprised when I met him. He was very soft spoken and his new partner Dr. Bosquez is very nice as well. Dr. Gorospe's office staff seemed very busy. I would definitely have any question that you might have written down so you will remember to ask it once the time comes. At this time I have only meant Dr. Gorospe and his staff once in a group meeting, so I have not had very many dealings with them at this time. I will add information later, once I find out more.

I met both Dr. B & Dr. G. Both are very knowledgeable about this surgery. I assumed Dr. G would be the better one, since it is his practice, therefore I wanted him to operate on me. But after listening to them both, I didn't care who got me. They are both extremely smart and capable to perform this surgery. So far both the doctors and the office staff have been great.

Dr. Gorospe is very informative regarding the surgery. He has a very sturctured program to follow for those interested in obtaining information.
His staff is very easy to work with. Very willing to assist with questions and offer help.
Once the surgery is over, Dr. Gorospe doesn't seem to have time to spend with patients (or at least I felt that way).
Overall, I would give him a high rating as being very well trained in the field.
I am very satisified with the final results of my surgery.
A good bedside manner would be great, but I feel the surgical competence is the most important.

Dr. Gorospe is a very nice man. He puts you at ease, like you have known him forever. His assistant is also very comfortable to talk to. It helps that she has been through the surgery and knows about being fat. The office is small and the Hospital is hard to find but it was worth the trip. He was very upfront with the risks and the procedures to lower them. I didn't find anything to dislike about the whole experience. They insist that you go to one suport meeting before and one after the "event" .

I met Dr. Gorospe and his office staff on Wednesday, April 17, 2002. It was an open initial consultation so there were approx. 15 people like me, all waiting in a tiny waiting room. As we waited we compared notes/quesitons. We all laughed at the tiny waiting room and shame on a bariatric surgeon for such a thing. :D
Dr. Gorospe was very nice, unhurried, informative. I felt comfortable with him. I had already conducted my research and chose Dr. G for his medical/surgical reputation. For me, surgical competence is most important.
The office staff was very busy, efficient, professional, thorough.
So far I do not have anything negative to say.

I have heard lots of good things about Dr. Gorospe. I have met him once he was very
Informative.
I have attended a group meeting and found everyone to be encouraging.
The office staff I am sure are very busy and I know that some people make their job tough. I seemed to catch the staff on their off days as they did not file my insurance like they said they would. I have several telephone conversations with my insurance company they would work with the Doctor's office but I could not get any office staff to call them.
I even gave them names and numbers of the insurance people. when the hospital tried to cancel my surgery date then the office personal did call my insurance company.
Then three weeks before my surgery they called asked if I could have the surgery in one week, I told them I could they told me to call back the next day to find the day for lab and surgery date. I called back the next day after my husband and I both changed
our work schedules to have them tell me it was a mistake I was to keep my orginal surgery date.
Also I was told to pay $2500.00 before I had the surgery - I paid this in January and my surgery schedule was April.
Hopefully we have everything ironed out and nothing else will stand in our way.
keep in touch with your insurance company and the Physician's office.Get a surgery date
as soon as you can it does take a few months.

Post Op 2 and 1/2 years, have met with Dr Gorospe several times for problems concerning weight loss surg weight 320 current weight 260 he is so busy that he takes vitually no time in his Office. The explanation for aftercare when released was poor again, too busy. I believe he is competent in fact an excellent surgeon and caring, but if I were to do it over again I would pick a different surgeon that does not do so much volume. As far as risks go he was very careful and caring.

I went to my first consultation with Dr. Gorospe on April 3, 2002. It went well. When I first arrived I was surprised at how may people they had set up and that the waiting room was sooo small. There were people crammed everywhere! They went over the surgery as well as the risks and benefits while we were in a group so by the time I saw the doctor almost all my questions were answered. I thought he was a very nice man and he put me at ease. I am really excited about this and know this is the best option for me.

It is 3-24-02 and I just recieved my approval on Friday. I have only been in for the initial consultation but am looking forward to becomming a patient of Dr Gorospe. I felt the meeting I attended gave me alot of information. Dr Gorospe and his assistant seemed very funny and I felt very comfortable with their experience and knowlege. I feel like I will be in good hands.
