Robert Cywes Bariatric Surgeon

He is an excellent doctor! I can't find anything nagative to say about him or his staff.

I have not actually had a sit down with Dr Cywes as of yet. His partner Dr Baptista is an very down to earth and nice man. The receptionist/appt clerk is a bit stiff and sometimes brusk, but the rest of the staff seems to really care about you. I have met with several of them over my 6 month physician supervised weight loss program and they are all involved and care. rnrnI should be getting a surgery date soon.

I adore my surgeon, he was so down to earth and so easy to talk to. His office staff really cares about making sure all of your questions are are answered.

I met with Dr. Cywes for the frist time on March 21,2007 and I was very impressed he went over what I should expect for the next 3 months leading up to my surgery.rnHis staff has been very helpful and even some of them are and were patients of his which makes me feel a lot better seeing their success.rnrn

I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER EXPERIENCE WITH MY SURGEON OR HIS STAFF. His PA Chrisntina is the best!rnAftercare is great.

When I went to his seminar my very first impression was he is very good looking.. :) After I got over that part and actually started listening to him talk my next impression was that he is a no nonsense kind of guy. He tells you exactly how it is such as people are overweight mostly because they eat too much and exercise too little. He gives you both the good and the bad of both the gastric bypass and the lap band surgery. He tells you that he thinks the lap band is better and that is the only WLS that he does but, its your decision and you should do what's best for you. Makes perfect sense to me. I am looking forward to working with him on my journey to a healthier me.

When I was working with Dr. Sooriash and Dr. Shariat, people kept telling me about how they had a connection and a confidence in their surgeon that I really didnt feel that I had. This concerned me, but I felt like I had made the best choice for me. Then a friend convinced me to meet Dr. Cywes and I finally understood that connection. Dr. Cywes has gone above and beyond to make sure I will be a success. Before he would even agree to take me on as a patient, he put me through a series of procedures, which he performed himself! I was so impressed! He didnt want to base his decision on someone else's review of the tests, he wanted to be right there, so he could have all the information needed to make the best decision for me. Sometimes, I think he gives to much of himself, and that leads to him being overwhelmed. But I admire him so much for wanting to be so dedicated to helping his patients. Isn't that how all doctors should be? Now I wonder why the other surgeons didnt take the time and effort that Dr. Cywes has. I am very pleased with my decision and I am ready to move forward!

He is awesome and I wouldnt want to have anyone else do the surgery BUT him. Office staff is very good- great attitudes, great smiles, bad about returning phone messages in a timely manner. The least thing I liked about him was the gross pictures he showed me of livers n such, but I knew it was necessary to make me understand his concerns. He is very big on aftercare, and wants you to call him if anything is wrong or you are worried or anything. as far as addressing the risks of surgery- he laid it all out on the line. There was never any question that I understood what he was saying and what he meant and what it was I would be doing. My rating for him on a scale of 1-10 is 100+. He is awesome in surgical competence but I never saw him after the surgery.rnrnBut, he still rocks!

'Dr. Cywes is great. He doesn't talk down to me... he makes everything clear so that I do not misunderstand. He is a bit scatterbrained

I was very impressed with Dr. Cywes immediately upon meeting him at the informational seminar. He has proven to be extremely knowledgeble about all aspects of weight loss surgery and recovery as well as the on going struggles of those of us who battle our weight daily. He was very comforting on surgery day and has been a big supporter and encourager of every pound I have lost since that day. I have had absolutely no complaints. I think he is a very talented surgeon who cares deeply about his patients and their quest to be a thinner and healthier person. i am very happy that I chose Dr. Cywes to be my surgeon and I am thrilled to be a bandster!
